Chapter 1518
The laboratories Lily passed were empty. Although the equipment was still there, there were no
specimens. Apparently unused for experimentation for a long time, some places had even gathered
dust.
Now she had stopped before what used to be Thompson's room.
When she was busy with her experiment here, she hardly had time to go home and would stay in the
building. Those with higher ranks like her and Thompson had been allocated rooms to rest.
Since Thompson had passed away, the door to his room was wide open and empty inside, without any
documents on the desk.
As she stepped in, she heard a voice say, "Professor Thompson's room had been cleaned up. I doubt

Lily looked over her shoulder and saw Rhea nearby.
For an alert person like Lily, she would not fail to notice Rhea having come so close.
‘I didn’t feel like I was being followed. It means... she didn't take the same route. I wonder where she
emerged from. There are pathways... or secret chambers or passages that I don't know about!’
She glances around, hoping to see if there are any clues, but cannot find any traces of trapdoors just
by looking.
"Are you very interested in Professor Thompson's room?" Rhea asked.
Lily looked over her shoulder at Rhea. "I'm more interested in yours. Do you mind if I take a look?"
"I don’t have a room here." Rhea shrugged and said calmly, "I don’t enjoy the benefits they've given
you and Professor Thompson. I only focus on my experiment and practically live in the lab. If you're
interested, you can look at my lab."
Lily nodded. "Okay!"
'Since she invited me, how could I say no? I worked here for so long and had never heard of Rhea, yet
she appeared out of nowhere and seemingly became the person in charge. As for her experiment, I’d
love to find out what it is about.'
Following her, Lily left the room and kept walking forward. Getting inside an elevator, Rhea reached out
her finger and pressed the "-1" button.
Lily was puzzled.
There was an assortment of items in the basement, where some low-light herbal plants were being
cultivated. However, there was no laboratory to her knowledge.
Seeing her bewildered look, Rhea curled her lips into a mysterious smile. " Looks like you’re not that

"I’m not, indeed." She nodded and agreed.
'Your research showed that you know a lot about herbal plants. I'm curious where you heard about
them." Rhea asked in a seemingly casual manner.
"I did learn something, but not that much." Looking at the indicator on the elevator as it moved
downward, Lily said blandly, "Anyway, I remember that you studied mainstream medicine overseas. I
didn't expect you to know so much about herbal medicine."
"We have to keep learning, don't we?" Wriggling her fingers, Rhea grew relaxed, as if she were having
a small talk with Lily. 'The world is so huge, and yet we know so little. Only through research and
experiments will we be able to progress and learn more. Then our society could advance in leaps and
bounds. Don’t you think so?"
"I believe that every advancement should benefit humanity. It’s only an advancement if it makes the
world better. Otherwise, I could not agree with you."
