Chapter 1428
Looking on as Anastasia gulped down the herbal soup, Lily handed her a napkin and took the empty bowl from her. "Can you handle the taste?"
Wiping the corners of her mouth, Anastasia nodded. "It's not bad!"
"Not bad?" Lily frowned. 'Even the smell was so pungent. How could she still think it's not bad?’
Seeing her doubtful look, Anastasia chuckled, then picked up a glass near her to take a sip of water and said, "I've had God knows how many weird medicines that taste worse than this. The bitter ones were still acceptable, but some were truly disgusting. I..."
Pausing, she waved to indicate that she better stop or she would throw up.
"You ate them to lose weight?" She could guess so, and Anastasia nodded.

effort. I might as well eat normally and perhaps become a 650-pound fatty and stay that way. Who
knows? At least I didn’t have to go through all that." She sighed. Although it happened long ago, she
would feel sad whenever it was mentioned.
She had stomached all those sufferings, physical torments, and shame brought on by people's stares
over the years, but they would only grow milder and not go away.
Lily felt sorry for her. "You'll get well. I'm sure you will!"
"Yes! I believe it too."
After meeting Lily, she felt like God had opened a window for her and grew cheerful. Not only did she
feel better, but she was also not as depressed as before. Anastasia felt like she was reborn and no
longer herself. Rather, she felt as if she had a whole new self.
"Oh, yes, Lily, what was it?" Although she drank it, she had yet to ask what it was.
Lily chuckled despite herself. "You finished it without asking what it was. What if it was poison?"
"No way! You wouldn't poison me." Shaking her head, Anastasia said confidently, "If you want to harm
me, you could just refrain from telling me that my obesity is caused by poisoning and simply watch me
die. Why go through all the trouble?"

"I'm telling the truth! Anyway, what exactly was it? Was it meant for weight loss or detoxification?" After
giving it some thought, she laughed and enquired.
"No," Lily said, shaking her head. "It's a prescription to strengthen you and might do your body good. Just give it a try, okay?"
"Okay!" Since she decided to let go, Anastasia has relaxed, knowing she could not get worse than she was. Moreover, she was visibly getting better. She saw her reflection in the mirror, and she looked more spirited.
She hated looking in mirrors because she felt fat and ugly. However, she had started to accept herself and even enjoyed seeing the changes she had undergone daily.
"Tasia..." Galen carefully climbed down the staircase on his tiptoes, one step at a time.
"Hey, sweetie pie, be careful, okay?" Anastasia happily answered, then rose and walked over, her gait much lighter and quicker. She was even able to hug Galen and carry him off the staircase. "You've woken up, huh?"
"I woke up a long time ago!" He pouted indignantly.
"Then why didn't you come down and play?" Anastasia looked at him smilingly. The cute little boy got his good looks from his parents. He looked like Alexander, but Galen's features were softer, and his skin was lighter.
