“Mm!” Winnie nodded and joked, “You must be bored being a vegetable, huh?”
“Yes,” Xavier replied with a frown. He relaxed when he lowered his head to look at Winnie. “But I’ve
never been bored ever since you showed up.”
“Of course,” Winnie replied proudly. “It is rare to find someone as attractive as me. Well…” She flung
her arms around Xavier’s neck to pull him closer until he had to bend down. “You should take more
days off so we can travel around. When I was climbing Mount Albeise a few days ago, I wanted to bring
you along to enjoy the view with me.”
“Really?” Xavier’s eyes lit up. “Were you thinking of me when you were climbing the mountain?”
“Yes!” Winnie giggled. “Don’t you know I went to Yartran because I missed you?”
“Mm.” Xavier gazed at Winnie, his gaze burning with passion.
Ignoring the fact that they were in the bustling airport, he captured her lips in a kiss.
Winnie responded to his kiss for a while before pushing him away gently. “We’re blocking the path.”
Xavier wasn’t satisfied yet. He stood rooted in his spot and joked, “I should buy this airport one day.”
“Sure!” Winnie played along with him. “Everyone will have to take the Fairchild family’s planes, then.”
“Okay.” Xavier got serious. “I need to work hard to accomplish the mission you just handed me, Mrs.
Fairchild.”
From today onward, he wasn’t only working hard for the Fairchild family. He wanted to become
stronger to get closer to his beloved woman.

Xavier initially planned to send Winnie to Aqua Moana himself, but Winnie didn’t want him to waste
time on the road. In the end, she returned to the apartment herself.
Winnie had already started missing Jacinta’s food when she was eating the airplane food earlier. She
assumed she would smell the delicious food upon entering the house, but what greeted her instead
was utter silence.
There was no one in the kitchen, the living room, and the bathroom.
Baffled, Winnie called, “Granny!”
No one responded to her call, but she heard a sound inside Jacinta’s bedroom.
Putting her guard up, she grabbed a vase on the coffee table and headed to Jacinta’s room.
Winnie opened the door carefully to discover that the person who made the sound was none other than
Jacinta herself.
Shocked by Winnie’s sudden appearance, Jacinta hastily stuffed the thing she was holding back into
her cabinet.
“Winnie! Why didn’t you make a sound if you’re back? You gave me a scare!”
Winnie put the vase down and went to her. “I did call you, Granny. What are you doing? Why did you
close the door when you were at home?”
She immediately spotted Jacinta’s clothes strewn all over the bed and the luggage opened on the floor.
Stunned, she blurted out, “Are you packing your clothes, Granny? Where are you going? Are you going
somewhere far?”
“Oh.” Jacinta stopped in her tracks and explained, “Well…”
Before she could say anything, her phone rang.
Knowing Winnie had a photographic memory, she quickly grabbed her phone so Winnie couldn’t see
the screen.
Winnie was confused. “What’s wrong, Granny? Why are you acting weirdly?”
“No, I’m not.” Jacinta rejected the call and continued her explanation. “To be honest, I was thinking of
going back to my hometown.”
“Huh? Why, Granny? Are you not used to living here? I thought you are friends with the old lady
downstairs.”
“I’m already used to living in my own house.”
“I know, but you’re no longer young. It isn’t safe and convenient for you to stay back there. Back then, I
could keep you company, but I’ll be living here more often. I can’t let you return alone.”
Jacinta sighed. “I came to find your cousin, but I couldn’t find him. That’s why I want to go back home.”
“Granny, you couldn’t find my cousin, but you have me. Don’t go back home alone, okay? Just stay
here and take care of me. Will that do?”
“But—”
“Please, Granny.” Out of ideas, Winnie had to act cute like how she used to do back then.
Indeed, Jacinta fell for that. “Okay, I will stay. Let me cook for you. Didn’t you say your plane will arrive
in the evening? Why are you back this early? I haven’t been to the supermarket yet.”
“The flight was rescheduled, so I got back earlier than expected,” Winnie explained. “You don’t have to
do that. I can just order some delivery food.”
She pulled her phone out and ordered some delivery food.
After that, she went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmOnce she disappeared from sight, Jacinta instantly dialed the number that she rejected earlier.
The person was none other than her son, Stuart.
“Stuart, Winnie suddenly came back earlier than expected, so I had to reject your call. Did you get
Zyon’s ashes?”
“Yes,” Stuart answered angrily. “My son is now cremated. I must kill Xavier to avenge him. Mom, you
need to be careful now that Winnie is back.”
“Why?” Jacinta frowned. “Don’t you dare harm Winnie! Xavier was the one who caused Zyon’s death.
Winnie had nothing to do with it.”
“Even so, you need to be wary of her. She’s smart and will notice something is off.”
“No,” Jacinta assured him. “I brought her up, and she is a filial child. We had to rely on each other, so
she would never suspect me.”
“Mom, you can’t be sure of that. Do you know that I’ve just found out that Xavier is investigating you?
Just be careful. Don’t go back home for now. I’ll handle the old medical records.”
After reuniting with his mother, Stuart decided to work with her to take revenge on Rufus to get back
everything in the Fairchild family that used to belong to them.
He made that decision as Jacinta was Winnie’s grandmother.
However, he was afraid of exposing Jacinta’s identity and came up with a scheme together.
Jacinta told him that her previous identity would never be discovered as those who knew her were
dead. However, she still had a medical record saved in a small psychiatric hospital.
After a discussion, they initially planned for Jacinta to head back to the hospital to get the medical
record and destroy it personally. Alas, Stuart didn’t know Xavier had been investigating Jacinta all the
while!
