Elliot, already teetering on the edge of reason, was pushed further by the taunting voice.
With no control over his emotions, he charged at Suzy once again.
Suzy didn't want to hurt him, especially given his fragile condition.
He was still wearing the hospital gown from when he had gone missing, evidence that his captors had seen him
only as a tool to manipulate.
His body bore wounds that had scabbed over but showed signs of infection, and he was visibly weak.
But in his current state, reasoning with him was futile. Suzy had no choice but to seal his acupoints again.
"Letgo! Letgo!" Elliot shouted, his voice raw and filled with anguish.
"Releasenow!"
Ignoring his pleas, Suzy turned her attention to the door, focusing on finding a way to escape. They had to get
out of there.
However, the door wasn't easy to breach.
Whoever was behind this had planned meticulously, and the door was secured with three layers of electronic

Just cracking the first one was proving to be a challenge, let alone all three.
Suzy took a deep breath and began working on the first lock.
Before she could make any real progress, Elliot managed to break free of the acupoint restraint.
He sprang forward and grabbed Suzy from behind, his desperation driving him to tear at her clothes.
"Elliot Hayes!" Suzy shouted, spinning around and shoving him away forcefully.
"I'm your mentor! Even if Dylan Wright didn't exist, there would still be no possibility for us!"
"Why not?" Elliot's voice broke as he screamed, his frustration and heartbreak spilling over.
"You know I've been poisoned with Scarlet Veil! If | don't get the antidote soon, I'll die! You helped Dylan, so why
can't you help me? It's just curing the poison. Why is that so impossible?"
Suzy's voice softened, though her resolve remained firm. "We'll get out of here, and I'll find another way to help
you. But not like this!”
Elliot's voice dripped with bitterness. "What solution? Finding another woman for me?"
His expression was full of mockery. "You were willing to personally cure Dylan's poison, but for me, you want to
bring someone else into it?
"Let's face it. Dylan is far more important to you than I'll ever be. If it were Dylan here with you, you'd have
already done whatever it took to save him.
"Because you care about him so much, you'd never let him be in danger. But me? I'm just your apprentice. A
disciple could be replaced, but the man you love can't."
Suzy couldn't deny his words, and her silence only fueled Elliot's despair.
To him, her lack of response was confirmation.
"So even if | die right now, you wouldn't save me, would you?"
"You won't die," Suzy said firmly. "The Elixir of Purification might not have fully neutralized the poison, but it's not
without effect. You won't be in immediate danger."
“Not in immediate danger?" Elliot let out a hollow laugh.
"What if you're wrong? Would you gamble like this if it were Dylan? Would you risk his life?"
"Elliot, you're not Dylan. He's different from you. You're two entirely different people. There's no comparison-"
"So you're admitting it!" Elliot interrupted, his voice rising in frustration.

"No, that's not what | meant—" Suzy tried to explain, but Elliot cut her off, his patience completely gone.
Before she could finish her
sentence, he tore at her clothes in
desperation. "You're not my mentor.
| don't want you to be my mentor. | want you to be mine-my woman!"
