Chapter 516 Your Family's Genes
"You're here to save the beauty, aren't you? It’s a pity that you're late!"
Alina's hand hurt from Antwan's tugging.
"What do you mean?"
Antwan was no longer as calm as he usually was, and he was very agitated.
"Why are you yelling? You behave as if she were your wife. Does she have anything to do with you?
You're always the second choice!"
Alina's words were harsh.
"Don't talk nonsense with me. I'll ask you one more time, where is Shirley?"
Antwan was completely irrational. He grabbed Alina's neck with both hands and asked with a hideous
face.
At such a critical moment, even if it was just a second delay, there might be irreversible consequences,
and he couldn't afford to delay!
"She, she's dead!"
Alina was about to suffocate, her cheeks flushed.
"What? Said it again!"
Antwan was completely out of his mind. He wanted to snap Alina's neck on the spot.
The remaining trace of sanity made him let go of his fingers. He lifted the woman up and asked like a
devil, "What exactly happened? What did you do to her?"
"Khak, khak!"
Alina was finally able to breathe again. She sneered at the man, who had gone crazy, and mocked,
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Antwan, are you too deep into the play? Don't tell me you really have feelings for Shirley... I don't know
about others. Didn't you approach Shirley just to cuckold Braden, take revenge on Braden, and find
your sense of existence as the second choice?"
"Shut up!"
Antwan clenched his fists, his face darkening to the core.
Alina was not afraid of death, so she continued, "You've been unreliable since you were a child. You
don't care about anything, and you never take anyone seriously. This is the first time I've seen you lose
control over someone unrelated to you. You're just like Braden. You're also a humble love-struck fool.
Don't you think this is your family’s genes?"
"I told you to shut up!"
Antwan's eyes were red as he couldn't stand it anymore and roared at Alina.
His mind was in a mess now, and he couldn't accept the fact that Shirley was dead.
"You're lying to me, aren’t you? Shirley is so lucky to escape from Braden. How could she die so
easily? You must be lying to me, right?"
The man held Alina's shoulder and repeatedly asked the woman frantically.
"I'm not sure..."
Naturally, Alina would not be stupid enough to tell the truth. She was the one who sent hundreds of
men to insult Shirley, but her plan failed. On the contrary, she was tied up. That was too humiliating.
Therefore, she could only say ambiguously, "I just wanted to talk to her, but she couldn't think it through
and plunged her head into the river. As for whether she is still alive or not, how do I know? I would
rather she is dead!"
"You mean, you forced her to die, and you let her jump into the river?" Antwan went even crazier. He
grabbed Alina's hair and said, "Why are you so vicious? I've already found a way to make you get
Braden. Why won't you let Shirley go?"
"What the hell are you thinking about? That method of yours is not a longterm solution at all. What I
want is for Braden to completely forget her, not to be with me reluctantly to protect her. As long as this
woman in the way disappears, one day Braden will forget her and fall in love with me!"
Alina was furious when she heard that.
Antwan was the mysterious man who gave her the video of Shirley pushing Amelie down the cliff.
With that video, she managed to separate Braden and Shirley.
However, they were only separated. Braden’s feelings for Shirley had never changed, even deeper.
Every time she saw him sacrificing himself to protect Shirley, she didn't have a sense of
accomplishment at all. Instead, she had a feeling that her dignity was trampled on, and her hatred for
Shirley naturally superimposed little by little.
Until now, she only hoped that Shirley would die!
As long as Shirley died, Braden would belong to her.
Unfortunately, Shirley was too lucky to get herself out of trouble again and again. She was indeed a
hard nut to crack.
"Alina, tell me that you're lying to me, right? According to her personality, she wouldn't do such a stupid
thing at all."
Using the last trace of his sanity, Antwan analyzed the possibility of Shirley falling into the river.
"Heh, you'll know when you jump down and find her yourself."
Alina sneered, "You said you love her, but now I see you men just love yourselves the most. How can
you put yourself in danger for an unknown reason?"
The woman was laughing so hard that her eyes suddenly turned to the entrance of the warehouse,
where a tall figure stood.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe recognized him immediately. It was Braden.
That was because only Braden had such a perfect body figure.
"Braden, why... why are you here? Did Tracy come with you?"
Alina could no longer put on a playful look. She struggled impatiently and tried to rush up to the man.
"Braden Stewart?"
Antwan also turned around and looked in the direction of the warehouse door. He said, trying to probe
something, "It was said that you suffered from an infectious disease and couldn't even get up. Now it
seems that you are in good health!"
Because the light was too dim, the man couldn't see anything except a shadow. He couldn't deduce if
those rumors were true or not.
Braden stood tall and straight. No matter how dark the surroundings were, it did not affect him at all.
That was why he was the most observant and quickest to react at that moment.
"Alina, can you repeat what you said?"
Braden ignored Antwan and asked Alina directly, "What's wrong with Shirley?"
"She, she..."
Alina panicked and didn't know howto answer.
"Tell me the truth, did she really jump into the river?"
Braden's voice was deep and cold, with an innate sense of oppression.
Alina gulped as if she was caught in a dilemma.
"I don’t know. I don't know anything. She might have been killed or she might be safe. You can just look
for her yourself... or let me go first, and I'll look for her with you!"
Alina's words made them relax a lot.
"Okay, then you can come with us. If we can't find her, I'll take you to the river!"
Antwan furrowed his brows, and with his gun cracked open the chain that bound Alina.
