God knows how Everett managed to grit his teeth and get through these past few months!
Today, finally free from restrictions, if he had to endure any longer, he was afraid he might actually lose his mind.
Even Everett said so, his eyes even pleading, how could Dorothy find it in herself to refuse?
"Then... then take it easy, don't rush, givea chance to catch my breath."
"Sure!" He agreed in an instant, thought for a moment, and then cleared his throat, "I'll try my best."
The next day, Dorothy slept till noon!
By then, the breakfast Everett had prepared in the diner had totally gone cold.
She sat up in bed, feeling more than just sore and achy! Even trying to slip on her slippers and get out of bed, she nearly stumbled
and fell.
It took Dorothy, getting washed up and dressed, stto feel somewhat better.

Stepping out of the bedroom, in the living room, the nanny was holding the baby, making her laugh.
Seeing Dorothy, the nanny smiled and approached, "Mrs. Lopez, you're awake."
This title, she found it awkward no matter how many times she heard it!
Dorothy gently said to the nanny, "Betty, please, just callDorothy. This Mrs. Lopez title makesfeel like ssort of
nouveau riche!"
"But, | couldn't possibly, you're the employer..." The nanny, accustomed to dealing with high society, naturally understood these
formalities.
The wealthy folks, after all, liked these titles, as a sign of their status!
"It's okay! | don't feel any superiority." Dorothy took her daughter, gently touching her little face, "Where's the father?"
"Mr. Lopez left early in the morning, the breakfast on the table was even made by him, should | warm it up for you?"
"That would be great, thank you."
The nanny hurriedly waved her off, "It's my job, Mr. Lopez payswell, it's the least | can do!"
As she went to heat the breakfast, Dorothy sat on the couch with her daughter.
She checked her phone and surprisingly, there were no messages from Everett!
Today, not a single word.
Thinking it over, Dorothy called Everett.
After a few rings, he picked up.
"What's up?"
Dorothy doesn't usually call first.
So whenever Everett saw her number, he'd immediately pick up and ask.
"Just checking in, what are you up to?"

"Got sstuff to handle."
"..." His vague answer immediately made Dorothy feel something was off. "Sstuff, what stuff?"
Everett hadn't even started to explain when suddenly another voice cfrom his side!
Surgery?!
Dorothy immediately frowned, standing up from the couch, "What surgery did you have?!"
e on, what surgery? Where are you, I'ming over now!"
Everett quickly said, "Don't worry, it's not because I'm sick."
He hesitated, then confessed in a low voice, "Il went for a vasectomy."
Dorothy was stunned.
"lI don't want you to go through the hardship of childbirth again."
"Dorothy, | can't stand the thought of you getting hurt even a little bit more."
