Knowing she was at fault, Dorothy couldn't help but mute her phone, acquiescing to her husband's plans.
Upon arriving at the hospital, a dedicated nurse led her to get her weight and blood pressure checked.
While Dorothy was still undergoing preliminary tests, Everett made a special trip to check out the maternity ward.
For him, Dorothy giving birth was now the top priority. Barring any unforeseen circumstances beyond control, he was determined to
ensure everything else was perfectly arranged.
"Ms. Sanchez, your blood pressure is a bit low. Have you been resting well lately?" the doctor asked gently after examining her.
Fortunately, Everett wasn't around, so Dorothy felt safe to nod. "It's just a lot going on at the office. I've been trying to wrap things
up, but | always make sure I'm asleep by eleven!"
"As a pregnant woman, staying up late is definitely not advisable," the doctor, sweet and patient, especially aware of Dorothy's VIP
status, reminded her. "It's not good for the baby's development, nor is it good for your immune system."

Even if she weren't pregnant, staying up late would still be harmful to her health, let alone now with a baby on the way.
Dorothy, who had been somewhat cavalier because this was her second pregnancy after having Abigail and Langston, realized she
might have been taking things too lightly.
"l understand. I'll be more careful."
"Great! Please wait in the lounge. The ultrasound room is currently being sterilized, but a nurse will call you in once it's ready."
"Alright."
Dorothy made her way to a chair and sat down.
She didn't rush Everett toe back, letting him take his tto inspect everything.
This man, thorough in everything he did, had his quirks, notably his insistence on seeing everything with his own eyes to be
reassured.
"Ah, I'm so sorry! | spilled on you."
Suddenly, a man carrying a cup of water accidentally splashed a bit on Dorothy as he passed by.
Luckily, Dorothy's light-colored clothing didn't show the spill much, and the man clearly hadn't done it on purpose.
She waved it off with a smile. "It's okay!"
"Lethelp you wipe it off. I've got snapkins right here," the man said, immediately reaching into his bag to hand her some.
"It barely got on me, don't worry about it."
Dorothy was polite in her response, but the next moment, the man's pregnant wife stormed up, hurling accusations.
"I sent you to geta glass of water, and here you are chatting up another woman?"
"...What are you talking about? | accidentally spilled on her," the man retorted, clearly aggravated at being falsely accused, his
tone turning sharp. "Go back to your seat. Acting like a shrew!"

His words were like a spark to gunpowder!
The wife's eyes widened in fury, her words too harsh to bear.
"I'm acting like a shrew, and she's the pretty one, right? You can't take your eyes off a beautiful woman! Why don't you have her
bear your children then? Or maybe the baby she's carrying is yours!"
Dorothy had wanted to stay out of it, believing it best to keep a distance from another couple's quarrel.
But as she tried to leave, the wife grabbed her. "Carrying a baby and you're trying to seduce someone else's husband? Causing us
to fight and then you just walk away?"
"Ma'am, which of your eyes sawseducing your husband?" Dorothy frowned, shaking off her grasp. "If not, that's slander!"
"Ha, | clearly saw you smiling at my husband!"
"So a smile is considered seduction now? If that's the case, should | accuse your husband of assault for spilling water on me?"
