When Langston got injured, Dorothy's routine, which previously was a simple back and forth, suddenly included frequent visits to
the hospital.
Luckily, Langston was a strong guy and bounced back quickly, not giving Dorothy too much to worry about.
After spending a week in the hospital, Everett grew concerned that Langston might not befortable there and worried that
Dorothy was overextending herself by running back and forth. So, he arranged for Langston to be discharged and continue his
recovery at home, with a doctor making house calls daily.
Once everything was settled, Dorothy noticed that Everett seemed busier than usual.
She wasn't sure what project he was working on, but sometimes, after picking her up from Trust-E, he'd rush off again.
"Everett, you really don't have to go out of your way to pickup if you're swamped," she said.
Trust-E wasn't far from their temporary home. She could drive herself, or even walk if needed, it wasn't a big deal.
"No way, | can't let you go halone."

Dorothy was pregnant, and after the incident with Maxton, there was no way Everett would let her travel by herself.
"But you're running yourself ragged!" Dorothy protested, catching him as he was about to dash off again. She raised an eyebrow,
"Has the Lopez Corporation taken on sbig project? Is it a major deal?"
Everett paused, considering for a moment before nodding slowly.
"Yeah, it's a big deal."
"Then focus on your work." Dorothy didn't want to be the reason the Lopez Corporation missed out on opportunities.
Even though her husband was the CEO, that meant he was responsible for the livelihoods of so many employees!
If the Lopez Corporation did well, it meant more money for everyone to support their families.
"I can handle both, don't worry! I'll be back as soon as | can."
After Everett left, Dorothy spent stplaying puzzles with Abigail and Langston before realizing she had missed a call from
Karen.
"Karen."
She settled on the couch and called back.
"I'm just checking in, how's the morning sickness? Any better?"
"It's much better, as long as | stay away from anything too greasy."
"That's good," Karen chuckled, then casually asked, "Is Everett there? Playing with the kids?"
"No, he's swamped with work, went to the office."
That remark led to silence from Karen's end.
After a few seconds, Karen's voice carried a hint of suspicion. "To the office? But | heard from Jeffrey that Everett hasn't been to the
Lopez Corporation for days."

"If that were true, Jeffrey wouldn't be as overwhelmed as he's been, needing to be there every day!" Karen had assumed Everett
was spending twith Dorothy and the kids.
But he wasn't home?
"Maybe the project he's working on doesn't require him to be at the office," Dorothy maintained her faith in Everett.
Karen, however, wasn't so sure.
She made a disapproving sound, then whispered conspiratorially, "Dorothy, be honest with me! Since you got pregnant, have you
two...you know, been intimate?"
"..." Dorothy paused, her cheeks flushing, "Why would you ask that?"
"Because I'm worried Everett might stray! They say when a wife is pregnant, that's when husbands are most likely to cheat. Since
they can't be intimate with their wives due to the pregnancy, they start craving a little...adventure."
Dorothy hadn't doubted Everett, but Karen's choice of words made her chuckle.
"Adventure? Really, Karen, you have quite the way with words!"
"Seriously, though!"
