not to respond to their requests for the time being.

Xenia thought for a bit and gave a slight nod.
"Alright. I'll get going then." The lady bowed and excused herself, leaving James all by

'I don't have anything to do at the moment. Waleria, Saachi, and Wynton have all gone
into seclusion. I just finished my meditation after an epoch. I don't feel like cultivating

The man sat on a flat boulder and stared absently into space day after day.

A faint, greenish beam of light shot down from the sky and landed in front of James.

stepped out of the beam of light.
James got to his feet. "Sir Lothar, what brings you here today?"
Lothar beamed warmly at James. The elderly gentleman was very pleased that James had
accepted the position as the Head of the Tempris House. Even though James was only at
the Permanence Acme Rank, the young man had nonetheless demonstrated great
potential and leadership.
"I have a task for you, James."
"Oh? May I know what it is about?" James asked curiously.
Lothar said, "You just took over as the Head of the Tempris House not too long ago. You
should do something to boost your credibility and image among the students. All along,
we have been facing the threats of numerous evil, unscrupulous clans or organizations in
the Verde District. It is one of the Verde Academy's missions that we try to stop and
eradicate these criminal organizations."
"A very long time ago, the members of the Verde Academy had carried out a major
operation to eliminate as many of these criminal organizations as we could. Regrettably,
those who got away bonded together afterward and created a new organization called the
Malvada Sect. During recent years, the Malvada Sect has been causing disorder and
turmoil in various universes around us."
Lothar finally brought up the purpose of his visit. "I want you to bring an end to this
organization, the Malvada Sect, once and for all."
James had been listening attentively. "Is the Malvada Sect a powerful group?"
"Yes, of course." Lothar explained, "However if you were to bring Waleria Zavee with you,

mission, but it's not entirely impossible."
James had a pensive look in his eyes as he fell silent for a moment. Then, he asked, "Can I
refuse to accept the task?"
Lothar tried to persuade him. "This is a good opportunity for you, James. You'll be able to
boost the Tempris House’s fame and reputation if you manage to dismantle the Malvada
Sect. Numerous cultivators will flock to your doorstep once they learn of the news."
"Can I take a look at the information we have about the Malvada Sect first? I need some
time to consider before making my decision."
James had only joined the Tempris House to train in peace. He did not want to get involved
in matters that might turn out to be extremely dangerous or risky.
Lothar produced a scroll and held it out toward James." Here. Take a look at it. I won't force
you to take up the mission. If you decide not to do it, I'll send someone from another
house instead."
Lothar teleported and vanished from the spot the next instant.
James started reading the scroll, which detailed the origin and background of the Malvada
Sect. The information on the current leader of the Malvada Sect was also included. Her
name was Zula Waconte.
