Chapter 341 Live And Die Together
“Vananeru, I wish to kill the cacodemon and save my people from their misery. I'll feel unsettled if I do nothing and let the cacodemon wreak havoc in this world. At my current cultivation stage, all I wish for is to reach the pinnacle of cultivation. Despite my practice, I have a vague idea of what cultivation really meant. All I know is that I've to be free of all desires and keep my mind pure. Only then am I able to pursue the path of cultivation without any distractions,” Galad explained.
It was like traveling on a long and lonely road with no clear destination in sight.
The driver's sole concern was that the vehicle must not encounter any issues. In case a problem arose, it had to be resolved immediately. Only then could the car continue its long journey without breaking down. If small problems were ignored, they could eventually accumulate and become bigger problems, leading to the car breaking down on the road.
The same went for cultivation for the mind must be clear and focused.
If there were unhappy events accumulating in one's heart, it will eventually become a demonic obstacle in one's cultivation, and may even endanger one's life!
Vananeru understood her father's intentions.
At this point, she did not know what to say. Finally, she uttered, “Father, I'll take my leave!”
Galad glanced at Vananeru and said, “Tomorrow, pack your things and make your way to Soblonaro. My friends are there, and they will take care of you.”
The girl shook her head firmly and replied, “I won't leave.”
Galad looked at his daughter with a restrained expression and asked, “Why?”
“Although I'm not a practitioner of cultivation, I am still a human. I need peace of mind to make sense of things. If you die, I would be the one to collect your body,” she responded solemnly.
Seeing Vananeru's determined gaze, the man knew there was no point in persuading her any further.
Hence, he gave a soft sigh.
“I'll take my leave!” Vananeru repeated once more.
The scale of the alchemy room in the Celestial Sky Monastery was incomparable to those in the Divine Realm.
The quality of the rooms in the Divine Realm was like those of a listed company, while the one in Celestial Sky was like a shell company. These were totally different.
When Jonathan was thrown in, he was semi-conscious, and his internal organs were greatly damaged.
It would take at least a day for him to recover.
However, the cacodemon immediately noticed Jonathan's presence.

“Daddy! Daddy!” it cried aloud excitedly. Unfortunately, the man was bound to the alchemy furnace and could not move forward.
In a trance-like state, Jonathan heard the cacodemon's voice and forced himself to open his eyes.
When he finally regained his senses and saw the cacodemon being locked up, he felt immense sorrow and indignation.
“Hey!” Jonathan shouted hoarsely.
“Daddy, why are you here too?” the cacodemon asked. Its eyes were also full of anger.
Feeling despondent, Jonathan said, “I'm sorry, Daddy can't save you.”
“It's okay, Daddy. I'm satisfied to know that my father cares about me,” the cacodemon said. It paused and added, “Besides, that sly bast*rd's cultivation level is so advanced, and even I am no match for him. It's not surprising that you can't save me, Daddy.”
Jonathan could not help but smile bitterly and said, “Don't you blame me, the cacodemon? If it weren't for me, you wouldn't end up like this.”
It firmly replied, “Even if this happens a hundred or a thousand times, my choice is still the same. I'll never abandon you.”
Deeply moved by the cacodemon's words, the man choked up. Then, he said, “You are a child with deep affection and righteousness, but those people pushed you into a corner and left you with no choice.”
Even though Jonathan sighed deeply, he knew in his heart that perhaps it was not the Galad's fault after all. It was the Heavenly Law—a fate that had been predetermined.
Yet, he questioned why the Heavenly Law had arranged for all these to happen.
I didn't expect to be sucked into this as well. What kind of karma is tangled up in this?
Jonathan could not figure out what was happening.
At the moment, although he was not tied up, he was unable to save the cacodemon. Its abdomen was pierced by mithril. Jonathan could not even cut through the precious metal in his prime, let alone now that he was severely injured.
Galad must have thought of it since he had allowed Jonathan to be locked in the same place.
Shortly after, Mabel was also thrown in.
When Jonathan and the cacodemon saw Mabel, their mouths dropped open in disbelief.
Jonathan immediately asked, “Why are you here too?” He paused and continued angrily, “Did Master Methendriel break his promise and go after you again?”
Mabel looked at the man apologetically before shaking her head with a bitter smile. “Master Methendriel didn't come after me. I came back because I saw that you didn't come out,” she responded.
“You...” Jonathan was stunned by her words. “Why did you even do that?”
“Let's not talk about this.” After a short pause, she continued, “Jonathan, I may have caused you a lot of trouble this time. Master Methendriel may not have intended to kill you, but now, you, me, and the cacodemon almost certainly have to die.”
“What do you mean?” Jonathan asked in surprise.
“This is what happened...” Mabel then went on to explain the whole story.
After listening, Jonathan's mouth twitched with bitterness.
This made Mabel felt even more guilty.
Jonathan smiled bitterly and said, “I came in with the possibility of dying. But I've to admit that when you tell me in person, it really feels different.” He paused and said, “We have experienced enough life-and-death situations. I wonder if there will be a miracle this time?”
The woman recalled the last time they narrowly escaped death; then, they also experienced great despair.
“I hope there will be a miracle,” Mabel said, “But we can't rely on our country. Jeff and the commander cannot directly negotiate with Master Methendriel. And it will take some time for the commander to recruit aid. What's more, the commander knows that we are not dead yet, so he will think that Master Methendriel will not kill us. Therefore, the commander does not want to escalate the matter to a certain level. They would rather wait for us to be rescued peacefully after the cacodemon dies. This is what both our country and Thailand would like to see.”
“The commander and the rest would never expect that Master Methendriel has already made up his mind to kill us,” Jonathan uttered.
“That's right. It's a pity that your phone has been taken away. If not, we could notify the commander and the rest,” Mabel said.
Feeling guilty about putting them in such danger, the cacodemon lowered his head and apologized, “I'm sorry, Daddy, Aunt Mabel. This is all my fault.”
During this period, the cacodemon's growth was incredibly slow, and his physical appearance barely changed.
Jonathan and Mabel's heart pained as they saw its anguish ridden face. After all, the only reason the cacodemon was caught in such a precarious situation was to save them!
With the help of Mabel, Jonathan stood up and made his way with much effort to the cacodemon. He then stroked its cheek, and said, “Silly child, why would I blame you? In fact, you should blame us instead.”
The cacodemon immediately buried its head in Jonathan's arms, and said pitifully, “This isn't Daddy's fault. It's all because of the sly bast*rd. He's the one who caused us misery.”
Its words only made Jonathan and Mabel even more depressed.
They looked at each other.
What is God's arrangement this time? Why is fate always so unpredictable?
The first light of dawn broke through a darkened sky four hours later.
A shaft of sunlight shone through the window above the alchemy furnace.
The sun was so bright, so those who lack freedom crave for it.
Jonathan trembled with pain, and his whole body shrank into a ball.
He felt as though a thousand knives were piercing through his skin, each blade twisted and turned in a relentless assault of pain.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHis internal organs had been badly injured, and with each passing moment, the pain grew more unbearable. However, his powerful immune system and cells were beginning to recover.
His healing abilities were incredible.
Meanwhile, Mabel sat down in the cross-legged posture to do meditation.
It was impossible for her to raise her cultivation level to defeat Galad in such a short period of time. If it were to happen, it would be a miracle. Honing one's cultivation required a step-by-step approach; the further you went, the more difficult it was to progress each step of the way.
When Jonathan finally felt better, he opened his eyes and saw Mabel dressed in a pair of black jeans and a fitted black shirt that hugged her curves. Her huge, luscious breasts also spilled into view.
Seeing her well-defined bosoms would leave any male burnt with lust.
A flickering flame of desire filled Jonathan's eyes as he watched the sunlight shine on her curves.
If the cacodemon had not been present, the man would have let loose and had his way with Mabel before their impending death.
Sadly, that was his wishful thinking as the woman had never harbored such sinful thoughts.
For some reason, Jonathan thought Mabel looked stunning and seductive at that moment.
Half an hour later, the alchemy room door flew open.
A man in a black robe with a solemn expression entered. It was Galad.
Two lamas followed behind him behind and they were holding pig feed.
An overwhelming sour smell assailed Jonathan and Mabel's nostrils.
What is Master Methendriel doing here? Does he expect us to eat that for breakfast? I rather die than be insulted like this.
When Galad entered the room, he glanced coldly at Jonathan and Mabel. “Have you gotten yourself comfortable here?”
The duo dared not utter a word as they feared the two buckets of pig feed before them.
Galad seemed to see through their minds. He smiled slightly and said, “Don't worry, these are not for you. You are not deserving of my time and attention to deal with you.” He then turned to the cacodemon and snarled, “It's time for breakfast, monster.”
A flash of hatred gleamed through the cacodemon's eyes, but it vanished in an instant. It scoffed and jeered, “That's great. I'm hungry.”
The lamas went on to place the two buckets of pig feed in front of the cacodemon.
“Finish it. Lick everything in the bucket clean,” Galad instructed coldly.
Enraged at the man's ridiculous demands, Jonathan sprang to his feet and yelled, “Aren't you a holy master? How could you be so cruel? I have nothing to say about you slaying the cacodemon because I'm not as skilled as you. But why do you want to humiliate it like this?”
The cacodemon raised its head and grinned. “Daddy, I can't get used to the food that you people eat. This is my favorite food. This is what I asked for...”
