Chapter 332 Love At First Sight
The Thymionian girl began chattering away to Jonathan. However, she spoke her native language, so
he could not understand a word.
He was somewhat bewildered. This isn't off to a good start!
Just then, another Thymionian female student stepped forward. She had a slender figure and an air of
graceful elegance, and she only looked to be in her twenties. Every movement she made exuded an
indescribable charm. It was easy to tell that she was a campus belle, the type who would have many
admirers.
She approached him and said in fluent Chanaean, “Good day, sir. How can I help?”
Jonathan was slightly surprised, for he didn't expect her to speak Chanaean. He immediately broke into
a smile, while sighing with admiration deep down. It seems that ugly betties aren't necessarily top
students, and unattractive guys aren't necessarily good guys. This campus belle is a true beauty and
intelligent!
“I'm looking for Vananeru. Do you know her?” he asked.
Despite feeling slightly disappointed by his reply, she said, “How could I not know her? She's well-
known on campus for being a gifted student. So, you're looking for her?”
He nodded. “Could you bring me to her?”
“Of course.”
“Thank you,” he responded with a smile. His gestures radiated an inexpressible appeal, and that smile
was enough to captivate anyone. The campus belle, whose name was Ginny, felt her heart flutter at the
sight of it.
Ginny came from a poor family, and her uncle was the one paying for her to attend university. Hence,
she had always had a clear goal in mind, which was to find herself a wealthy husband.
She had approached Jonathan enthusiastically because he was handsome and rich. Even after he said
he was looking for Vananeru, she was not about to throw in the towel. She was confident that she
would have her chance.
Although there were many affluent people in Thymion, she had never encountered anyone as rich and
elegant as Jonathan. He was, so far, the only man that met her standards.
Ginny immediately led Jonathan toward Vananeru's dorm. As they passed through a quieter path lined
with trees, she remarked, “I still don't know your name. I'm Ginny, by the way.”
“I'm from Chanaea, and my name is Jonathan Lawson,” he replied promptly.
“It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Lawson.” She held out a hand solemnly.
He did the same and shook her hand politely before quickly letting go.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGinny continued leading the way. Then, she piped up again to ask, “Mr. Lawson, are you very close to
Vananeru?”
“If we're very close, I wouldn't need you to show me the way. I could've just called her, right?” he
answered with a wry smile.
She let out a chuckle. “Oh, I've asked a silly question. That does make sense.”
“Not at all! You're so beautiful, so even if you were silly, that would be considered adorable, not silly,”
came his response.
Finding his answer amusing, Ginny grew even more fond of him. “You're so funny!”
He chuckled. “I'm merely telling the truth.”
She soon spoke again and asked, “By the way, if you don't know Vananeru, why are you looking for her
then?”
Jonathan was a smart man. Knowing what Ginny was thinking, he did not give a direct answer. He
merely smiled and said, “That's a secret for now. However, I'm not a bad guy.”
Seeing that he was reluctant to explain, she did not press further. After all, I must still maintain a good
impression in his eyes.
They soon arrived in front of the girls' dorm. The building had an Epean-style design and was simply
beautiful.
“Come on,” she said to him.
He was momentarily stunned. “Am I allowed to enter the girls' dorm?”
Somewhat surprised by his question, Ginny replied, “Of course. Is it not allowed in your country?”
“No, it isn't. The dorm supervisors are very strict about it.”
Smiling, she explained, “Our dorm unit has a living room and other rooms. Men are allowed into the
living room on condition that they are given permission.”
Jonathan hummed in realization, then said, “But I didn't get Vananeru's permission.”
She chuckled. “That doesn't matter. You can also come to our unit. I'll make you a cup of coffee.”
“Ginny, not only do you have a beautiful appearance, but you also have a beautiful heart,” he
responded with a grin.
She felt rather shy upon hearing that, and her cheeks flushed instantly.
While they were talking, they entered the courtyard of the girls' dorm without a hitch. Then, she led him
to a unit on the third floor. The unit comprised six small bedrooms, one large living room, a kitchen, and
a bathroom.
Mapleton University was a landmark of Thymion, so its facilities were excellent. They were far from
what other foreign universities offered, but by local standards, it was clear they had put in much thought
and effort.
The front door was not closed. Several girls were laughing while watching television on the couch,
dressed in light clothing such as tank tops, shorts, and nightgowns.
Jonathan's sharp eyes immediately picked up that they were not wearing any underwear! He also
spotted Vananeru among the group of girls. She was the one wearing the nightgown, and with her hair
still damp from just being washed, she looked rather bewitching.
Vananeru and the other young ladies also noticed him at once.
It was hardly surprising as his outfit was rather flashy indeed, so it was quite difficult for others to avoid
noticing him.
The girls shrieked and darted back into rooms, clearly having gone to put on their underwear.
Turning to Jonathan with a smile, Ginny remarked, “You must've gotten an eyeful, Mr. Lawson.”
Suddenly, he felt a little awkward. He was actually used to such scenes, but he knew he had to feign
embarrassment. I can't let them think I'm a pervert!
It amused Ginny to observe his embarrassed expression. Mom always taught me that a man who gets
shy easily can't be all that bad.
She walked into the living room and said, “Come on in, Mr. Lawson.”
“I think it's better if I wait outside,” he replied with a wave of his hand.
His response elicited a giggle from her. “It's fine. I'm very close with these girls.”
He insisted on staying outside despite what she said, and she did not continue persuading him.
It was not long before the young ladies who had dashed into their rooms came out. They had changed
their clothes and looked very beautiful, especially Vananeru. She looked demure and elegant in a long,
black dress. Anyone would be captivated by her. Even though her hair was casually tied up in a messy
ponytail, she still exuded a trace of allure.
Their eyes immediately fell upon Jonathan, who was standing outside in a daze.
One of them nudged Ginny and said softly, “I must say, you were very inconsiderate to bring such a
devilishly handsome guy without telling us first. I can't believe you let him see us like that! I don't care.
You owe us a meal.”
The girl spoke in Thymionan, so even though Jonathan could hear her, he could not understand what
she was saying.
Ginny replied in Thymionan, then turned to speak to Vananeru.
A moment later, Vananeru walked over to Jonathan.
“I heard you're looking for me,” she said in Thymionan, speaking in a slightly stilted manner.
After all, there was no denying that he radiated a unique aura. She had been able to remain calm and
composed while conversing with any well-to-do men in the past. However, at that moment, she felt
overwhelmed by Jonathan's aura.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmA person's aura was something intangible. A mid-level employee would naturally assume a more
subservient position to that of their boss because the latter's aura would dominate over the former's.
However, after that same person returned to his parents' house, he would naturally gain an increased
sense of dominance. That was because the person had a stronger aura than his parents.
In truth, Jonathan had thought long and hard before deciding what to wear that day. Although he could
not understand what Vananeru said, he knew she could speak Ustranasian. After all, if she did not
know how to speak Ustranasian, Mabel would not have been able to talk so much to her while in the
car.
Hence, he turned around with slightly reddened cheeks and said in Ustranasian, “I'm sorry, but I don't
understand Thymionan.”
She immediately switched to Ustranasian. “I heard from Ginny that you're looking for me.”
He nodded as he raised a hand and scratched the back of his head. Looking shy and embarrassed, he
said, “I apologize for the intrusion, but I'm returning to Chanaea tomorrow, and I don't want to have any
regrets. So... Um... Please don't fault me!” After saying that, he pressed his palms together and gave a
slight bow. He had learned that was the custom in Thymion and was immediately practicing what he
had learned.
Vananeru was confused. Blushing, she replied, “I don't quite understand what you mean.”
He gestured anxiously as he explained, “I arrived in Thymion five days ago for vacation. I saw you on
the streets one day and thought... Well, I thought to myself that you're the one I'm looking for...”
His face turned an even deeper red as he became increasingly embarrassed. Then, he continued,
“Please don't think I'm being presumptuous. I genuinely mean no harm. I just don't want to have any
regrets. That's all I came to say, so I'll be going now.”
Vananeru was no fool, and she quickly caught on. In the blink of an eye, her heart rate quickened as it
started pounding wildly, and her pretty face flushed crimson.
Although Ginny and the other girls could not understand the conversation, they could guess the gist of
it from the pair's expressions and felt a twinge of jealousy in their hearts.
“What are you trying to say?” Vananeru asked, not daring to look Jonathan in the eye.
He took a deep breath before replying. “I grew up in a relatively well-off family. My father is the
chairman of Foliage Fashion Group. I'm not trying to brag. I'm just trying to say I never lacked love and
admiration from the opposite gender while growing up. Over the years, however, I've never fallen for
anyone. I didn't feel like coming to Thymion, but for some inexplicable reason, I found myself here.
Then, I happened to see you on the streets. You were wearing a long, dark red dress. At that moment, I
immediately thought you're the princess I'm looking for.”
Jonathan was not making things up. All the information about when Vananeru had gone shopping and
what she had been wearing had been reported to him by the Department of National Security.
