She was lost in her thoughts when a man's deep voice rang out behind her.

“Please hold on, Mr. Quinn," the man said.

That familiar voice brought Angeline back to her senses.

She lifted her head and turned to the man. She was flabbergasted when she saw Evander. Didn't he leave already?

Why is he still here?

Although Evander didn't speak loudly, everyone at the scene heard him.

Joel abruptly halted in his tracks before turning to look at Evander.

“I didn't expect you to bring someone along. Ms. Sorelle."

“I didn't—"

However, Evander cut her off by saying. “I understand where you're coming from, Mr. Quinn. However, a genius like

you shouldn't be trapped here."

Joel didn't say anything in response.

“I know Angeline well enough to know that she's not someone who would act rashly. It's obvious that she's

genuinely hoping that you would join her company," Evander added.

Angeline couldn't help but smile gleefully when she heard that. After so long. Evander finally said something nice.

On the other hand, Joel was slightly stunned when he heard those words. In fact, he seemed to have abandoned

the intention of leaving the scene.

Nevertheless, something was wrong with the look he had on his face when he looked at Evander.

Joel slowly walked up to Evander and sized him up. "Who are you?”

“Let me introduce myself. I'm the CEO of Golding Group. Evander Golding," Evander patiently introduced himself to

Joel.

To Evander's surprise, Joel's face darkened the moment he heard Evander's name. With fire burning in liis eyes, Joel

asked. “Are you really Evander Golding?"

Evander furrowed his brows slightly and hummed in acknowledgment.

Before Evander could say anything else, Joel suddenly grabbed liis collar and punched liis face.

“You b*stard!” Joel finned.

Without knowing what was going on, Evander was sent crashing to the ground upon receiving that powerful punch.

Joel seemed to have gone berserk. Not only did he not back down, but he immediately got on top of Evander's body

and started punching him relentlessly.

“Stop it!" Angeline was the first to react, and she shoved Joel aside. “What's the matter with you? How could you hit

someone as you wish? What did Evander ever do to you?" What just happened? Joel was fine just now, and he

suddenly became a madman!

“He doesn't owe me anything, but he owes my sister everything he has!" Joel pointed at Evander, trembling

uncontrollably.

What? What did Joel mean by that? How is Evander indebted to Joel's sister?

Angeline was still in a daze when she saw Evander rising to his feet.

There was no way Evander would back down from a fight. He quickly threw a punch at Joel's face.

Soon, they were raining punches and kicks on each other, and neither of them was backing down.

“Hey! What's going on? Why can't you guys just talk it out? Why must you guys resort to violence?" Nigel said

helplessly.

He didn't dare to break them apart because it was an intense fight.

No one could hear his words because liis voice had been drowned out by the intense arguments.

Evander held Joel's collar tightly and glared at him. “You've got the wrong person! What do I have to do with your

sister?"

“You're Evander! It's you! Even if you were to turn into ashes, I would still recognize you! If my sister hadn't risked

her life for you, she wouldn't have died such a gruesome death!" Joel wras getting angrier by the second, and he

somehow' gathered enough strength to punch Evander's face once again.

Thud!

Evander crashed onto the ground after getting punched.

At that point, the comer of liis lips was bleeding, but he couldn't feel the pain anymore.

He gradually raised liis hand to wipe the blood away, liis eyes bloodshot.

“Are you okay, Evander?" Angeline yelled before jogging towrard him. Her eyes were filled with concern. “You're

scaring me! Why are you bleeding so much?"

Evander ignored her question and pushed her hand aw’ay before continuing liis fight with Joel.

Angeline could only stand by and wratch the men fight as though they were a couple of kids.

She held her own forehead in helplessness. If I let them cany on. one of them will really get hurt.

Angeline took a deep breath before rushing toward them, hoping that she could stop the two of them. “That's

enough. You guys can ahvays talk it out. Don't—”

Before she could finish her sentence, Joel, wdio failed to contain liis temper, reached out and shoved her aside.

"Buzz off!"

Angeline was caught off guard, and she ended up falling to the ground.

Since she was unprepared, she failed to support her own weight and crashed into a tank next to a well. The tank

shattered on the spot.

“Alili!"

Angeline suffered a cut on her forehead due to one of the shards. She turned pale because of the pain, and w'hen

she reached out to touch her forehead, her hand was drenched in blood.

“Angeline!" Evander immediately stopped fighting and dashed tow'ard her. While looking at her worriedly, he asked.

“Are you okay?"

“It hurts..." Angeline mumbled.

Evander started to breathe heavily. He turned toward Nigel and ordered. “Call for an ambulance!"

“Oh! I'm on it!" Nigel wras on the verge of peeing himself.

Joel was stunned when he saw Angeline getting hurt. While frowning slightly, he said, “I have a medical kit at home.

I can lend it to you guys first."

“No need!" Evander's eyes were filled with murderous intent. “You better pray that Angeline's all right. If something

bad happens to her, I'll kill you and destroy the entire island!"

Upon saying that, he earned Angeline in his arms and left the courtyard.

Angeline gripped Evander's collar as she rested in his embrace. At that moment, she could feel a great sense of

security. Whenever Evander is around, there's nothing to be scared of.

After they arrived at the hospital, she remained in Evander's arms when the doctor ran tests on her.
