Chapter 1397 You Have Me Completely in Your Grasp , Beryl
Even though Beryl had never been in a relationship, she had seen enough of it around her. If she couldn't catch his
hint now, she would really be a fool.
She pushed the man behind her away impatiently, "Alright, go get some sleep."
"I'll go with you to the hospital tomorrow morning."
Beryl was slightly stunned, "Why are you coming with me?"
Compared to her nervousness, he seemed to be carefree, "To see how my girlfriend's father is recovering. What
else could I do?"
"Maybe we should wait a bit. If my father sees you, he will start interrogating you again..."

Just thinking about it made Beryl's heart flutter. She had never been in a relationship before, let alone having her
family know about it. She's only a freshman in college, not that old. She didn't dare to think about how her father
would react if she started dating someone Marcellus' age...
"I'm not mentally prepared yet..."
Marcellus thought that she was unwilling to make their relationship public, which surprised him. "It's either you tell
or not. What's there to prepare for?"
"No, I'm afraid my family will..." She stopped mid-sentence, looking hesitant.
Marcellus prompted, "What?"
Beryl didn't want to be too explicit, but seeing his persistence, she finally gritted her teeth and said, "They might not
accept it."
Upon hearing this, Marcellus stopped his pushy attitude and fell silent.
Only now did he seem to realize the disparity between them: a mature man of distinguished family background and
a fresh-faced, beautiful college girl. Setting aside everything else, these two points alone would give outsiders
enough room for speculation.
He lowered his head, "I forgot, this would indeed cause you trouble."
Beryl thought he would persist until she agreed, but she didn't expect him to say that.
She had grown accustomed to his assertiveness, so this sudden change made her feel...awkward?
It was as if she had wronged him, filling her with guilt.
Especially since he had just posted a picture of them holding hands. She felt like she owed him even more because

If he had been more insistent, it would have been easier for her. His consideration only made her feel worse.
After a moment of silence, she didn't know what to say, so she asked softly, "Are you upset?"
Marcellus was upfront. His excitement had faded and his eyes turned cold, "Yes."
Beryl felt upset, "You can talk to me about it. You don't have to be considerate."
"Will you agree if I do? Besides, you're right. I didn't consider it fully." He added in a resigned tone, "I don't want to
break up just because my girlfriend's family disapproves right after we've gone public."
If making her family aware of their relationship wouldn't bring blessings, he'd rather they didn't know.
Looking at the remorseful girl, Marcellus couldn't bear to say anything. He sighed, "Beryl, I've never been afraid of
anything before, but now I'm really scared of losing you. Even if I'm upset, I can bear it as long as you're happy."
"Don't say that..."
"How should I say it then?" He suddenly chuckled, revealing a hint of melancholy and other emotions she couldn't
decipher, "I guess I've fallen into your hands, Beryl."
