Lila was startled, and before she could explain, Amelia quickly stepped forward. "Are you seeing Uncle Kieran?" On the day she visited the Morgan residence for the memorial, Amelia had stood outside for a long while. The sight of her slender, solitary figure, enveloped in sadness, made everyone who passed by instinctively tread lightly, afraid to disturb her.
It was heartbreaking. At that moment, Amelia had thought to herself, "If staying away from the Morgan residence would bring Lila happiness, then perhaps that's what she should do." After all, no matter how good Kieran was, if they weren't right for each other, it was better not to force it.
Now, seeing how much better Lila looked, Amelia's heart still ached for her. She opened her arms, and Lila stepped forward to accept her embrace.

Amelia responded gently, "Sometimes, if you stay stuck in one place, it's hard to find happiness. But if you're brave enough to move forward, you might just find it, you know?" The girls shared a chuckle before dropping the subject. Amelia helped with the packing, picking up Nova from Lila's feet and placing her in a box. Then, she gently patted the cat's furry head. "I've almost gotten attached to you. I'll cvisit often." Dressed in a thick coat, she escorted Lila downstairs. When Kieran saw them, he got out of the car, took the things from Amelia, and placed them in the back seat. Amelia looked at him with a slight smile but didn't say a word. The man nodded at her in acknowledgement.
After returning to Evergreen Heights, Lila felt her tension ease a little in the familiar surroundings. "Most of Nova's things are still on Milton Street. I'll grab them when I have time. For now, let's put her in the guest room." The living room was too big-she didn't want Nova running off and disappearing. Kieran nodded and carried the kitten over.
Once Nova was settled, Lila retreated to her own room, noticing that despite her absence, the room had been meticulously cleaned. Even the bedding had been changed as if expecting her to return anytime.
She wasn't tired yet, as she'd slept a lot recently But she still took a shower and lay down on the bed. She turned off the lights and closed her eyes, enjoying the moment of peace. She thought about her parents and grandmother and how all of them hoped she could live happily.
The door lock turned softly, and Lila opened her eyes and glanced in that direction but didn't move a muscle. The person, likely surprised by the darkness of the room, stood briefly by the door before walking over.
The corner of the blanket was lifted, and Kieran lay beside her, pulling her into his arms. His scent, fresh with woodsy notes, lingered in the air.
Lila chuckled. "Kieran, we're still just dating. How can you sleep here?" Even though she said that, she turned onto her side, resting her arm across his muscular waist, holding him close.

embrace, resisting the urge to pull her completely into his embrace, and held her tenderly. Lila nestled in His arms for a while, then propped herself up on his abs, lifting her upper body slightly. In the dark, their eyes met. She then lowered her head and placed a soft kiss near his lips.
"Good night; Kieran." After saying that, she lay back down and slowly drifted off to sleep, completely unaware of the way Kieran's eyes widened slightly and his whole body burned with desire.
When her breathing slowed, he let out a sigh, his feelings a mix ọf o m helplessness and longing. He got up and went to take a cold shower.
