AT the strength seemed to have been drained from my body, whether from the illness or them, | couldn't tell.
My feet felt as though they were weighed down by lead. | desperately turned around.
Before | could leave, a sweet voice from behind suddenly grew louder.
"Juliana!"
My body trembled, and it was too late to avoid it.
Turning around, | met Amelia's eyes, which particularly lit up with excitement.
Her goal was about to be achieved, so she should be happy.
Stanley, who didn't expectto be there, seemed visibly flustered, trying to hide something.
But Amelia gently tugged at his sleeve.
He had no choice but to walk up towith a stiff face.
"Juliana, you must have heard what I said. Amelia is pregnant. I'm sorry. We were both drunk that day. I'll give
you more money during the property division, and | can't be irresponsible to her."
Overwhelmed with guilt, he couldn't even look at me.

arrogance.
"Juliana, it was wrong ofto do this, but there's nothing wrong with loving someone. Besides, you never gave
Stanley a son or daughter over all these years. Should he be childless because of that? You should understand

Perhaps my gaze was too intense, and Stanley, unable to avoid it, coughed awkwardly.
"Juliana, Amelia is still young and sometimes her words sound harsh, but she's right. Over the years, I've
supported you, providing for you without you having to work. I've fulfilled my responsibility."
That was his answer.
That was his response to our years of marriage.
