My eyes opened with a start. I felt a strange sensation in my body like an electric buzz. The feeling cwith a soft humming sound that made my ears tingle. I looked down, as if to make sure that my pup was still okay. I took a deep breath of relief when I saw and felt that my baby bump was still the same.

But yet, I had a strange feel, as though something that was dead and deep buried insidejust woke up. It was like fire charged through my veins in torrents.

I looked around me, and noticed that I was tied in a truck boot with thick ropes. A tape was plastered over my lips and I wriggled it to see if it would coff.

It was no use. Whosoever had placed the tape over my lips did a good job with making sure it doesn't coff easily, except with the use of one's hand.

I tugged against the rope on my hand, but nothing happened. The truck kept moving against the ground, shoving my body side to side in the confined space. Tiara was too alert and our ears picked up every little sound that was made. It was more sensitive than usual.

"Why are we here?" Tiara asked.

I tried to think of what exactly ledto this point, but all I got was a sudden pain in the head.

I winced.

I suddenly went still as I heard a thump, thump. It was the faint sound of a heartbeat. I listened carefully, and suddenly, a feeling of pleasure spread through me. This wasn't my heartbeat. It was my baby's.

Despite the terrible state I was in, a overwhelming sweet feeling washed over me. i was hearing my baby's heartbeat for the very first time. A tear streaked down my cheeks. I was very happy. Then the sound of the truck beclouder in my ears. I whined, but the sound was muted by the tape.

Uncomfortable, I moved against the floor of the truck in a squirm. When none of that broughtthe relief I sought, I gave up and stared up. There was no sky. Just skind of thin wrapping that covered the back of the truck but it was transparent enough to allow sunlight to filter in. I sniffed.

A sharp sting cut through my lower abdomen and leftwith a short scream. I felt the pressure build against my pelvic, and a growl left my throat.

It cand left in a flash, almost as if it was never there, but I was sure of what I felt a moment ago.

Could it be what I think it is? A contraction? It couldn't be.

Panic set in. This wasn't the right place or tto have my baby.

Besides, my pup wasn't due./ ove just in my fourth month. It should be the fifth, not now.

I took deep breaths, trying to ease my panic. It would dono good to give birth to my pup in the middle of nowhere, tied in the back of a truck.

"We need to get out of here.." Tiara said in a slight panic.

I agreed, but I had no idea what to do. I tugged at the ropes again, and my shoulders sagged in resignation.

"I can't," I started in my head. "The ropes are too strong, and they smell like wolfsbane. I can't break it." Tiara growled. "You are not weak, Eden." Tiara paused. "I know you can feel it just like I can." I frowned.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Something divine touched us when we were unconscious. I know you can feel the powerful current waves within us..." "Power?" My eyes widened.

"Yes. Break the rope Eden." Tiara said.

I released a deep breath and closed

my eyes. Then I pulled hard with all my strength. I felt myself fleaba little in the air but fell back downin defeat. My breaths cout hot and heavy against my cheeks as I tried to ease my racing heart.

"We can do this. Channel this power with me, and release..."

I closed my eyes once more, and tried to sync with the low buzzing in my soul It felt like I becten times bigger in size. Snap! All the ropes on my arm and feet broke.

Immediately, I pulled the tape from my lips and scrambled to my feet as I looked for a way out. I noticed a tiny opening on the side of the truck, and squatted, my eyes over it.

What lay beyond was an empty, open field. We were truly in the middle of nowhere, or maybe somewhere out of town.

Now that I was able to think well, I let my mind roam back to what had happened to me. How I got here...

Olivia

My sister convincedto follow her to go see my parents, and we had just stepped out of the arena when a group of rogues waylaid us and draggedaway. Olivia just watched, with an evil smile on her face... It dawned onthat I trusted the wrong person again.
