Chapter 333 As Nadine's bestie, Avery understood her well. While not quite a mind reader, she could usually guess what was troubling Nadine with reasonable accuracy.
Given Nadine's hesitant demeanor, Avery suspected it had something to do with Brad. Only that man could leave her feeling so helpless.
"Con, spit it out. I'll have your back. Even if you want to crush Brad's balls, I'll be right there with you." Nadine had no family in Janctera City, and Jennifer had treated her with indifference. Avery was her support, her rock.

"It's not a huge deal, really. It's just... I always thought Brad was responsible for Sean's injury, but it turns out he wasn't. I ended up not only scolding him but also slapping him hard. I think I might have been in the wrong." The slap she had given Brad had been with considerable force. Even now, her right hand still throbbed with lingering pain.
When Avery heard that Nadine had slapped Brad, she was stunned. It took her a full three seconds before she could speak.
"You slapped Brad? Which hand did you use?" Nadine raised her right hand. Avery immediately took her hand, blew on it, and examined it.
"Did it hurt? Does your hand feel sore? Letrub it for you. Lettell you. Hitting a scumbag like Brad is well- deserved. If he doesn't know his own faults, a good slap will teach him. You did well.
"Since you're so cool, I'll give you a thumbs up. If you think this isn't enough, I'll even put up a banner in front of Hamilton Estate that says, 'Slap the scumbag Brad and kick the mistress Jean'." Nadine was amused by her words and finally broke out into a genuine smile. "You always know how to makelaugh. Anyway, I just feel like I was in the wrong and that I should apologize." Avery nodded. "Sure. If you want to apologize, just text him. He probably won't care anyway." Nadine was silent.
Sensing that Nadine genuinely wanted to apologize, Avery decided to support her. "Alright. You apologize if you want. I'll just scroll my phone here and wait for you." With that, Avery turned and stood by the large window in the corridor to wait for Nadine. The large window reflected their figures, like two intertwined trees, rooted together and supporting each other.
Nadine took out her phone and started drafting a message. After several edits, she ultimately decided against sending it.

After a moment's hesitation, she deleted the message and put her phone back in her coat pocket.
Walking over to Avery, she said, "Forget it. You're right. He probably doesn't care 't care and doesn't need my apology. I'd rather not humiliate myself."
Avery wrapped her arm around Nadine's shoulder. "You've finally cto your senses. Lettell you.

"Didn't you want to completely erase one Brad from your heart? You've done most of it. Just a little more, and he'll Al. Just a truly be a part of your past. Well done, babe! You're doing great! Keep it up!"
