Chapter 4044

Mona could not help but end her sentence with a furious glare in Darryl’s direction.

At her arrogance, there was not much Darryl could say.

Lia, the more sensible sister, piped up. "Mona, watch your words."

Lia turned to Darryl. "Do you know what you just said? Darryl Darby is considered a hero to the Demon Warriors

and is highly esteemed. Do you know the consequences of faking his identity?"

Just like Mona, Lia also thought the man was lying.

Darryl felt helpless to their accusations, scratching his scalp and cracking a pained smile. "I didn't know I was

spoken of so highly by the Demon Warrior tribe. I'm Darryl Darby, I promise, why would I lie to you?"

He turned to face Lia. "Look, why don't you bring me to see your father? That way, you'll have his word on

whether I'm a fake or not.

Well...

Lia bit her lips, falling silent as she thought his proposal through.

The man had a point. Bringing him to her father would prove if that man was lying for

sure. Yet, they still had not found out enough about the Sealed Fiend Mountain.

On top of that, the man before them was gravely injured. Bringing him with them would

definitely cost them more time to return.

What should she do?

"Lia!"

Mona lost her cool, stomping her feet with a frown on her face. " Are you kidding me? It's

so clear that he's a fake. He just wasted one of our Creature Soul Pills, and now he's

pretending to be the Honorable Darryl Darby. I say we just kill him."

Mona reached into her side, drawing an ominous-looking dagger.

'F*ck me!'

Darryl was startled at the sight of the dagger. Was that lady serious?

Lia scrambled to stop her. "Let's not be rash, Mona."

Lia looked around her, calling out to her subordinates. "We'll return to our territory. Help

Mona. Let's bring him with us. Be sure to watch out for his wounds. His safety is of utmost

importance to us."

Lia spoke with an unreadable expression on her face.

Lia was less than trusting of the man before her. Yet, she understood the strange ways

that fate worked in. If that man turned out to be Darryl, they would be fools to leave him

there to die.

Lia had thought it through, she would return to the territory to report back to her father as

soon as possible. That way, her father could make a decision sooner as well.

What?

Mona froze at her orders, displeasure written all over her face. "I'd rather eat my foot. If

you're returning, Lia, I'm coming with you."

Mona pointed at Darryl. "Even if you want to save him, the subordinates can handle it."

Lia smiled stiffly. "Please, Mona. I'm doing this so you'll gain experience as well. Plus, if he

turns out to be Darryl Darby and Father finds out you had a hand in caring for him on the

way back, you'll be heavily rewarded."

Lia ended her sentence with a pat on Mona's shoulder. "It's settled, then. I trust you,

Mona."

Lia took off into the skies, soaring toward the territory.

"Lia—"

Mona cried out in indignance after her sister. However, Lia moved quickly and had disappeared into the forest in

the blink of an eye.

Mona was positively furious.

She glowered at Darryl. "Just you wait. My father will be able to see through you at first glance. I can't wait for

him to punish you."

She stomped ahead immediately after that.

The rest of the subordinates hurried to pick up Darryl, following closely behind her. Darryl was still in pretty bad

shape, and his right leg was broken. There was no choice but to carry him back.

Darryl felt relief instead of anger when he saw Mona.

All he cared about then was getting to the White Tiger King as soon as possible.

That way, he would be able to stay alive. He could also request the Demon Warriors' help to help take down

Archfiend Antigonus.

Over at the Sealed Fiend Mountain.

"Argh..."

The battle grew more vicious. Under the Archfiend Antigonus' leadership, the fiends grew stronger and wilder

with their attacks. In stark contrast, the Godly Region group had lost many of their soldiers to their opponents,

and many of them were swallowed by the ground too. More of their soldiers died by the second.
