because she was worried. sick about you. Leonardo, aren’t you happy to see her return? Virginia

explained.

Virginia addressed Maria so personally that those who didn’t know them would think she was Maria’s

daughter.

Judging from Virginia’s expression and Leonardo’s understanding of his mother, Maria wouldn’t have

grown so nervous and decided to return unexpectedly without informing him. He believed Virginia must

have said something more to her.
