Without any more hesitations, Austin immediately left the Rudimentary Holy Land. He was heading towards the Northern Mine

District in the East Mainland.

The Northern Mine District was thousands of miles away, so Austin had to use the teleportation arrays frequently during his travel.

Many of the teleportation arrays located in the big cities were open to everyone. Everybody could use it as much as they wanted

as long as they could afford to pay for it.

Days and nights had passed by as Austin kept on his journey. After spending almost a month on the way, he eventually arrived at

the Northern Mine District.

A wild and barren land welcomed Austin as he arrived. It looked like a vast red sea as the red soil covered the ground. Austin

scanned the area and saw nothing but the red turf with lumps of reddish-brown rocks of different shapes and sizes.

Without any living things wandering around, the district looked empty and deserted. More barren stone mountains stretched across

the skyline.

There was not a living creature or plant around. Humans often avoided the area and rarely passed by it. Without anything but the

wide desolated land, it was like a dead zone.

The freezing weather accompanied the empty lands. A film of frigid mist covered the place all the time. The mist was cold enough

to send chills to those few people who walked in this area.

Despite that, Austin knew that underneath this cold, barren ground lied treasures every cultivator would long for. A great number

of crystals were hidden somewhere in this wild land.

The treasures that awaited him were not only those vital energy crystals but also different kinds of rare and special crystals. It was

said that the Northern Mine District contained all those kinds of fortune.

Because of the riches it contained, many sects and clans in the East Mainland wanted to take full advantage of the area for their

interests. A long tago, the three strong holy lands, the three powerful clans, and sother suprsects had already

entered the Northern Mine District. They had divided the area among each of them. Every sect and clan separately controlled a

part of the district they owned as they started to excavate their turfs for those crystals.

The Northern Mine District was also one of the reasons why the holy lands, the clans, and sof the suprsects became

powerful and stayed strong for a long tin the East Mainland.

Controlling a mining district meant that they had full access to a mountain of gold. That was enough to provide strong financial

support for the whole sect and help it grow stronger.

However, the vast land seemed endless. No one ever saw or knew the end of it.

The Northern Mine District covered almost half of the area in the East Mainland.

As a result, even though the three holy lands, the three clans, and other suprsects had started the excavation for crystals for

a long time, they still had not uncovered the whole area yet. The huge area still contained a great amount of treasure that was left

untouched.

Despite their control over sparts of the land, there were still many mysterious and extensive areas left unknown.

Aside from that, it was said that sunknown and horrible areas lied deep within the Northern Mine District. These areas were

rumored to be so dangerous that no one dared to explore them. Even the holy lords and the reclusive elders of the holy lands had

not ventured too far in the mining lands in fear of what lied ahead. Neither did the owners and the elders of the clans. The risk was

too much for them because they had no idea what to prepare for when they went deep within the lands.

The danger it posed scared those weaker sects and clans. That was why only the three holy lands, the three clans, and supreme

sects could excavate in the Northern Mine District.

These holy lands, clans and suprsects were strong and powerful enough to handle a part of the land. Moreover, they had

many extremely formidable cultivators who could help them whenever they were faced with danger.

Those less stronger sects did not have enough strength and enough number of strong cultivators to protect them. Death would

most likely be inevitable once they were faced with danger they could not handle.

It was said that in the East Mainland, there once were two or three secondary sects that had the courage to try and enter the

Northern Mine District. Their elders led them to explore those unknown areas in the Northern Mine District, which had not been

explored by the holy lands and clans.

However, nobody cback. Everybody assumed that they were all dead. No one knew what really happened to them in those

unknown lands.

After that, those weaker sects in the East Mainland never dared to send anyone to excavate for crystals in the Northern Mine

District anymore.

Standing in the Northern Mine District, Austin frowned when he saw that this area was as barren as the rain shadow desert-- Gobi.

"Why is it like this?

What the hell is this place?

The Northern Mine District should be full of spiritual energy since there are massive precious crystals buried under the ground. This

place should have been lively.

Why does it look so wild and barren? What happened on this land?" Austin said to himself as he continued to scan the endless red

desert.

Everything in the area made Austin feel very strange.

As he walked on the vast lands, he could vaguely feel the sense of danger.

Before coming here, Austin had already pinned the location of the area that was controlled by the Rudimentary Holy Land here in

the Northern Mine District. As soon as he arrived, he headed directly towards that location.

After traveling for several weeks, Austin was finally able to see stents popping on the skyline in the distance.

‘That must be the area where the Rudimentary Holy Land is, '

Austin thought to himself.

Austin immediately exerted the bodily movement skill he created on his own and instantly becinvisible.

He then continued to move forward without making any noise.

After a while, Austin finally arrived at the Rudimentary Holy Land's location.

A number of tents scattered everywhere like piles of houses in the middle of the desert. At last, Austin was finally able to see other

people in the wild and barren land.

There were many huge holes on the ground. Sof them were deep enough and looked dark from a distance. One thing was for

sure, under these holes were the crystal mines.

Many people were busying walking in and out of every crystal mine. These people were the ones in charge of excavating the

crystal mines. They all had stools to use in digging. Their clothes looked dirty from all the dust that they got from mining.

From the look of it, they were from different areas in the East Mainland. These people were hired to chere and dig up the

crystal mines.

These hired people were usually the poor ones who either had never cultivated or those whose cultivation bases were very low.

They chere to do the labor work to earn a decent living enough to survive their everyday lives.

All of them were busy as they hustled in and out of the mines. Each of them worked tediously and mechanically like stiff robots.

Their faces were void of any emotion.

On the other hand, the stewards and the principal disciples from the Rudimentary Holy Land were responsible for the management

and ensuring the safety of the crystal mines.

Since the crystals were precious to every cultivator, they stayed alert because it could attract sbandits.

It was widely known that from tto time, sbandits wandered the areas where the holy lands, clans, and superior sects

were. The bandits scouted these places more often to steal the crystals that they had mined.

As a result, they would send out their strong cultivators to safeguard the areas under their control in the Northern Mine District.

Still invisible, Austin stealthily moved forward and secretly wandered in the mining district.

After a while, he suddenly felt a strong spiritual sense that was quickly moving close to him from a distance.

'It must be an elder from the Rudimentary Holy Land, ' Austin thought.

It all happened so fast!

Austin was surprised, but he acted immediately. He exerted the spatial power and vanished into thin air.

The surge of the strong spiritual sense ca split second after Austin had vanished.

It passed by the location where Austin had been standing and swirled back and forth in that area. From the way it moved, it

seemed that the owner of the spiritual sense was trying to find something in that spot.

On the other side, inside one of the big tents in this mining district, an old man was sitting quietly with his legs crossed. His eyes

were closed as if he was busy focusing his attention as he searched for something.

"It's so strange. | am sure that | sensed someone sneak into this area. But that person was gone suddenly. Is it just my illusion?"

the old man said to himself.

He was an elder of the Rudimentary Holy Land, who was in charge of the security and management in this mining district.

He used his spiritual sense to sweep the area dozens of times, but he could not find anything. Eventually, the elder grew tired and

gave up.

Meanwhile, as soon as Austin vanished entirely, he went into the void of chaos and hid there.

After more than an hour of staying there, he cback to the mining district when he felt that it was safe to get out.

Austin thought carefully.

Austin knew that there must be many powerful cultivators from the Rudimentary Holy Land who were supervising and safeguarding

the mining district all the time. They were surely keen on doing their jobs to ensure the safety of the crystals. If Austin made any

mistake, they might find him and cause him trouble. He must think of a discreet plan to get through and avoid the danger.
