Chapter 618 Get Lost
Xavier pushed the tram's speed to its maximum, oblivious to the number of traffic lights he had run and ignoring
everything around him.
He raced as fast as lightning.
Since he completely disregarded traffic rules and sped recklessly, many drivers, in order to avoid colliding with his
tram, were forced to abruptly change their course, nearly crashing into other vehicles.
“He must be courting for death!”
“Idiot! Don't get others involved if you want to die!”
The curses of various drivers did not reach Xavier's ears at all. All he could recall in his mind was the desperate and
helpless look in Cecelia's eyes and the pool of shocking, crimson blood beneath her.
There was no denying that the thought of extracting bone marrow from their baby for Samuel once crossed his
mind.
The moment he learned from the doctor that extracting bone marrow from a newborn posed a high risk, he
immediately dismissed the idea.
Cecelia, however, was unaware of it. She had always thought that he wanted to sacrifice their child to save the life
of the child he had with his ex-wife.
He knew she despised him, and he also knew that the baby in her belly was her lifeline. If Griselda really did
something sinful to the fetus in her belly, he guessed that Cecelia would fall apart.
With those thoughts in mind, Xavier began to drive even faster.
Drenched in sweat, he finally arrived at the hospital entrance.
He headed straight for the sixth floor where the VIP ward was. Knowing Griselda, he was certain that his high-
profile ex-wife would have had the entire floor sealed off.
Sure enough, when he arrived on the sixth floor, he saw a group of burly bodyguards stationed at the elevator and

As soon as Xavier appeared, a burly, tattooed man with dark skin immediately blocked his path. “I'm sorry, Mr.
Dartsley. No one is allowed to enter here,” said the bodyguard.
When Xavier saw the operating room light was on, his heart filled with unbearable anxiety.
He pulled away the tattooed man's muscular arm, then bolted toward the operating room. “I need to see Griselda!”
“Ms. Whitman is currently occupied. Once the surgery is over, you'll naturally get to see her.” Once again, the
bodyguard placed himself in front of Xavier, looking as huge as a hill.
With a slight lift of his hand, two bodyguards immediately stepped forward, blocking Xavier's path together.
“Get lost!” Xavier, driven to anger, directly engaged them in a fight, taking on ten by himself.
He was a trained fighter, and with his desire for a swift victory, he put his full force into every punch and kick. Alas,
the bodyguards were no weaklings either.
Due to the overwhelming disparity in strength, Xavier quickly found himself at a disadvantage. He was swiftly
subdued, his hands restrained behind his back by a few bodyguards.
His eyes were swollen from the beating and horrifying traces of blood spilled from his nose and the corners of his
lips. He looked utterly disheveled.
The idea of watching the operating room right in front of his eyes, yet powerless to do anything, gave Xavier an
overwhelming urge to blast the door open.
He let out a shout, his heart aching in pain.
Just then, the elevator chimed again, coming to a halt on the sixth floor.
A line of people in black emerged orderly from the elevator.
They were all dressed in black, their faces bearing expressions so cold and stern as if they could kill someone.
The Whitman family's bodyguard questioned the people coming out of the elevator, “Who are you? What do you
want? Unauthorized personnel are not allowed here. Ah—”
His taunting words had not even fully left his lips when he felt a sharp, agonizing pain in his wrist as if it had been
snapped. All that happened in a mere second or two.
It was not until the dark muzzle of the gun was pointed at his temple that the bodyguard reacted in horror. Who's
this average-looking man who subdued me? His speed was inhumanly fast. D*mn it. Am I getting threatened now?
“Boss...” Seeing their leader having a gun pointed at his head, the other bodyguards of the Whitman family dared
not make a move. They were like a flock of sheep that had lost their shepherd, descending into utter chaos.
At that moment, a tall and robust man emerged from the elevator. His every move exuded a touch of languor and
a sense of superiority. Yet, behind his languor lurked a danger, as if a storm was about to break.
The Whitman family's bodyguard naturally recognized the famous Cayden.
The muscles in his face twitched subtly, and he used laughter to mask his inner turmoil. “So it's Mr. Moore who's
gracing us with his presence. May I ask if you are here at the Whitman family's hospital for a medical consultation?
Every visitor is a guest, after all. Allow me to personally escort you to the director's—”
“Mr. Moore...” Xavier, who was freed from the Whitman family's bodyguards by Cayden's men, hung his head in
guilt. “She has been in the operating room for quite some time now...”
Cayden's intimidating gaze fell upon Xavier's disheveled figure, the coldness in his eyes enough to send chills down
the spines of the Whitman family's bodyguards.
Cayden then commanded his people, “Break the door down.”
Right after he spoke, a thunderous bang was heard. The operating room door had been abruptly kicked open by
two men in black.
At that very moment, the operating room was suddenly filled with the clear, piercing cries of a newborn baby.
Xavier rushed in without hesitation.
He did not spare a glance for his child with Cecelia. His eyes were fixed unblinkingly on the large bloodstain on the
operating table, and Cecelia, who was in a state of semi-consciousness.

Griselda cradled one of the newborn twin girls in her arms, overjoyed that her son finally had a chance at survival.
I can't believe Cecelia gave birth to a pair of twin girls. This woman's lucky. Even if one baby were to die from a
bone marrow extraction, it wouldn't matter.
The excitement in Griselda's eyes had yet to fade when she saw Xavier walk over to Cecelia and tightly grasp her
hand.
Griselda froze on the spot.
She wanted nothing more than stab the despicable couple.
“Cecelia...” Xavier's eyes were filled with heartache.
He got to his knees, his towering figure shadowing the tied-up woman as he tore off the tape sealing her mouth.
The sight of her tears and blood sent pain through his heart.
Cecelia's forehead ached, and her cheeks were covered in sweat. She looked as if she had just been heaved out of
the water.
Her eyes were filled with hatred, glaring intensely at the twins cradled in the arms of Griselda and the doctor. Her
whole body was on high alert like an enraged beast. “Get away! Don't touch me! Go to hell, all of you! My babies.
Give them back to me...”
Xavier's heartache intensified.
Cecelia has always been vibrant and carefree, but at that moment, she looked as if she has just escaped hell. Her
face was pale and haggard, and her whole body looked lifeless.
Xavier gently stroked Cecelia's damp hair, his voice filled with soothing tenderness. “Don't be afraid. I will protect
our baby. I won't let anyone harm them, including myself.”
When Griselda saw the tenderness and affection her ex-husband showed toward Cecelia, jealousy flared within her
like a fire doused with gasoline, burning more fiercely than ever.
