Bennett nodded slightly and said, “It was him, alright. I was gravely injured after he ambushed me. As my life was
hanging by a thread, I feigned death in the hopes of fooling him. After he left, I hurriedly made my escape.”

Upon hearing this, Tobias cackled and pointed at Bennett, saying, “That’s right. So what if I was the one who
ambushed you? You are past your prime, old man. Even if you refined the core and boosted your strength, how
long more could you live? Perhaps a decade or two? I, on the other hand, am a whole different story. I’m still young.
By boosting my strength, I can lead the family to glory and make us the most powerful family in the world.”
