Chapter 371
The unexpected pairing left Larissa completely bewildered. She couldn’t comprehend how these two
individuals had ended up together.
“What’s this?” She shook the wedding invitation in her hand, waiting for Kevan to provide an
explanation.
Kevan’s response was concise but lacked emphasis, as always. “Cody and Lana are getting married,
as you can see.”
She suppressed the urge to roll her eyes and asked patiently. “How did they … end up getting
married?”
“Lana is pregnant.” His answer sent shockwaves through her,

she missed while she was in
recovery?
“Not sure,” he lied with remarkable composure. “I’m not close with Lana, after all”
“That’s true,” she thought. Lowering her head, she stared at Lana’s embossed name on the invitation,
rubbing the paper’s corner with her
thumb, contemplating the intricacies of the situation.
Given Lana’s behavior, Larissa was confident that her relationship with Cody must have been driven by
his wealth. But what did Cody see
in Lana? It couldn’t be that simple.
Kevan asked her, “Are you going?”
She looked up, her face filled with confusion. “Go where?”
He gestured toward the invitation she held with his chin. “The wedding, of course.” The wedding was
scheduled to take place in half month, likely hastily arranged to conceal Lana’s pregnancy.
“I’m not going,” she replied without hesitation.
She was about to divorce Kevan, so there would be no further ties between her and Cody, and she had
no intention of involving herself
with Lana any further.
“Cool” He nodded, indicating his understanding of her decision.
“Oh, by the way,” she said. “Don’t you have anything to say to me?”
He raised an eyebrow. “About what?”
“Cody and Ruby are getting divorced.” she reminded him.

“Since they’re getting divorced, don’t you plan to divorce me too?” She didn’t beat around the bush and
went straight to the point.
“Now is not the time. If I divorce you, my mom will definitely think it’s because of Ruby.”
She wanted to retort that that was precisely the case, but in the end, she held back.
“Wait a little longer,” he said. “At least until Dylan is gone.”
“Suit yourself.” She laughed nonchalantly. “After all, time is on my side, not yours.”
He glanced at her, struggling to maintain his expressionless face. “I’m not impatient,” he said. “The idea
of divorce has always been. brought up by you. I’m simply accommodating your wish.”
Although what he said was true, it infuriated Larissa. It seemed like he was shilling all the blame onto
her while absolving himself entirely.
“Fine, then,” she said, seething with anger. “Let’s continue like this and not get divorced?”
His hands trembled as he involuntarily clenched his fists. “Okay,” he said.
