Chapter 1274 Albert’s Arrival
"Roxanna Miller?" Evelyn frowned upon seeing her unexpected visitor. She couldn't help but wonder why Roxanna
had come to visit her instead of being at the research center caring for Nicole.
"What are you doing here?" she inquired with displeasure as her disdain for Roxanna was apparent. This woman's
earlier outburst had struck Evelyn as the loyal behavior of a pet defending its owner.
"Do you know what you—"
"Roxanna, hold your tongue!"
Roxanna halted her speech instinctively at the sound of that voice, turning to face Chloe with a puzzled expression.
"Chloe, why did you stop me?" Her anger was palpable, mingled with a strong sense of curiosity.

resentment flickered in her eye as she spoke. "Miss Wrenn, my apologies. We shouldn't have disturbed you at this
moment."
While her words held an air of apology, her eyes remained emotionless, emphasizing her haughtiness.
She then subtly curled her lips, her gaze lingering on Evelyn's figure. "By the way, Miss Wrenn, your baby might be
in the wrong position, so I'd suggest you take the necessary precautions."
"What do you mean?" Evelyn responded brusquely, her irritation with Chloe's attitude unmistakable.
Roxanna, too, was irked by Chloe's behavior and intervened. "Chloe, why would you tell her that? Have you
forgotten that she's the one—"
"Roxanna Miller!" A furious shout silenced Roxanna, and she turned to Chloe with eyes brimming with intensity.
"I…" Chloe's voice caught in her throat, leaving her uncertain of what to say. After an exasperated sigh, she gave
Evelyn's abdomen a final glance before leading Roxanna away. Chloe knew that this wasn't the appropriate place
for such a conversation.
"Chloe, why did you stop me? We should have confronted her directly. It would serve her right to lose her baby!"
Roxanna's confusion deepened as she struggled to comprehend Chloe's actions, given they were aware of Evelyn's
role in Nicole's demise.
"Roxanna, have you considered the consequences of causing a scene here? If you told her she killed Nicole, don't
you think the servants there would tell Colton? What would happen if he found out? That's not what Nicole would
have wanted." Chloe's voice dropped to a whisper, and she bowed her head. Despite her unspoken desire for
retribution, she recognized the necessity of rationality.
Meanwhile, Roxanna appeared stunned, finally comprehending the irrationality of her prior actions. She had nearly
committed a grievous mistake, creating a situation against Nicole's wishes. "I'm sorry," Roxanna murmured, gazing

As they both grappled with their emotions, Chloe's phone suddenly rang, breaking their contemplation. Glancing at
the caller ID—it was the research center—she swiftly answered, her raspy voice questioning, "What's going on?"
"Chloe, a man named Albert Lloyd has arrived. He says he's here to treat Miss Anderson."
Her eyes lit up, and her grip on Roxanna tightened as she eagerly responded, "I'll be back soon. I'm coming!"
"What happened?" Confused yet willing, Roxanna got into the car, and Chloe sped toward the research center with
urgency and caution.
"Mr. Lloyd is here," Chloe responded. Despite Nicole's passing, Albert's presence still stirred excitement within her,
as if he held the power to resurrect Nicole.
The drive that usually took an hour by car was truncated to just thirty minutes.
"Where's Mr. Lloyd? Where is he?" Chloe and Roxanna rushed into the research center, seizing an employee to
inquire eagerly.
