But the memory of Sanford’s rage was undeniably unsettling.

Maggie shifted, about to voice something, but held herself back after a moment’s hesitation.
Sanford held her close and directed his gaze at Rosalynn. “Rosalynn, she’s not going anywhere.”
“But she has work tomorrow,” Rosalynn protested.
