Chapter 1539

Keegan observed the triumphant figures on stage with a wry smile.

"You cheeky rascal. I've been asking for that new Frontier drone for ages. You couldn't bear to let me use it even

once, but you let Stella use such a high-end gadget for this? I see you're prioritizing love over our friendship,"

Vermont muttered under his breath.

Keegan shot him a glance, "And what would you do about it? n

"I would escort Miss Bandit to work. Duh. Sounds cool, right? " Vermont defended himself.

Keegan gave him a disdainful look.

"What's that thing?" Felicity asked curiously.

Vermont explained, "It's a new drone developed by Keegan's company. It has biometric recognition, target locking,

and tracking capabilities. It was originally meant to assist search and rescue teams, but Keegan let Stella use it to

catch liars. Quite the waste, isn't it?"

Felicity's eyelids twitched at that, 'Didn't he just say he was going to use it to escort me to work? How dare he mock

Keegan? But that's not important right now.'

"Mr. Kane, did Stella know there would be trouble today?"

With all this evidence prepared so thoroughly, it was clear she was onto them.

Keegan shook his head, "It was just a suspicion. We weren't entirely sure, but we took extra precautions."

Two weeks ago, Maggie called Stella the day after she finalized her design. She told her that someone had flipped

through the drafts she had left on her desk.

Stella quickly accessed the surveillance footage from the design room. Interestingly, the camera had been messed

with and was purposely not directed at Maggie's desk.

Hence, it was impossible to determine whether her things had been tampered with.

However, Maggie was certain that it happened. When she went out for lunch, the pen resting on the folder had no

cap on. When she returned, the cap was back on.

Stella did not know how to handle the situation. Launching a thorough investigation without evidence might only

lead to resentment from other staff members.

So, she called Keegan.

After hearing the situation, Keegan offered her a piece of advice, saying, "Designers and developers share a

common trait; they pay great attention to detail. This is because details often determine the success or failure of

one's work. So I think you should trust her despite the camera not capturing the incident."

The leak of the design drafts was no trivial matter. The press conference timing had already been set, and it was

impossible to create something better in that short time.

Moreover, it did not make sense forthem to change their design when their designer was the original creator.

Keegan added that there was likely someone intentionally trying to frame them. Stealing the design drafts was just

the first step. "The other party would probably make the next moves, so we need to be extra vigilant," he said.

Both Keegan and Stella were exceptionally cautious during the days leading up to the conference.

It was not until two days later that Maggie received a call from Barbara, asking her to bring over some things she

had left at the company, that things took a turn.
