Chapter 1155 I Can Bear It
Huston, who almost broke down a moment ago, pretended to be calm at this time. "I know."
In fact, he was still worried. Looking at her weak appearance, his heart had long been twisted into a knot.
However, he did not want her to bear the burden with him. Just as Kevin had said, he had to become this woman's
strong backing at this time.
"Keep your body away from water for the next two days. I've prescribed ointment to prevent infection and aid in
healing. It might feel itchy after applying it, but it's beneficial for the recovery of the wound," Kevin handed over the
prepared medication to both of them. "Don't worry too much; you've already passed this hurdle, and there won't be
anything more difficult to endure."
Evelyn nodded and looked at him sincerely. "Thank you, Kevin."

the treatment. You and Huston should go back and rest early."
Huston supported Evelyn to the underground parking lot. Even though she kept insisting that she was fine and could
walk on her own, he paid no attention and persisted in helping her.
If her wound wasn't on her back, he would have simply carried her into the car.
Under Huston's careful protection, Evelyn sat in the front passenger seat, and the softness behind her back was a
pleasant surprise. It was only then that she noticed an especially soft water cushion placed on the car seat behind
her at some point.
Her back was in so much pain that it was almost numb, but she could hardly feel anything when she leaned against
the cushion.
The driver's door was pulled open, and a gust of cool air from the underground parking lot swept in. Huston
stepped in with his long legs and then closed the car door. The first thing he did was to turn around and carefully
adjust the angle of her seat.
Evelyn's heart softened, feeling a tingling sensation. She looked at the slight frown on the man's forehead and
comforted him softly, "Why are you so nervous? I'm really fine."
"The treatment is so hard to bear, and you're still saying you're fine?" This time, Huston was not as calm as he had
been in the office. His deep gaze lingered on her face, full of pity.
"It's hard, but I've made it. Besides, compared with the recovery of my wound, I can bear it."
Looking at her pale face, Huston hesitated for a moment before asking, "Do you have to do this treatment? Evelyn,
as I said, I don't care about your scars at all."
Knowing what he was going to say next, Evelyn shook her head with a smile and said firmly, "I must do it." "Phew,"
the man let out a deep breath, looking away and focusing on the front of the car, seemingly trying to ease his

emotions. After a while, he spoke again, "Even if I worry like this for you, do you still have to go through with it?"
Huston had never known that he could be so weak. Looking at her after coming out of the treatment device, she
appeared as if she had gone through a painful torment. Her whole body was soaked, and there were bloodstains all
over her back. His heart felt like it had been torn open, crushed, and stirred into a pulp.
Evelyn lowered her eyelids, looking at the large trembling palm unconsciously placed on the center console. She
knew he was deeply worried about her. She reached out and covered his hand gently, speaking softly, "I know
you're concerned about me, but my motivations go beyond just selfishness. I want you to see a better version of
me."
"You being by my side is already the best," he said, his emotions tightly wound, hesitating a bit. "After going through
so much, all I want is for you and our child to be happy and healthy, staying by my side. Scars or anything else, I
don't care."
"I know, I know everything!" Evelyn pursed her lips and looked at his handsome face, which was full of anxiety.
Suddenly, she didn't know what to say.
