Chapter 146 Serena unfolded the invitation and realized, to her surprise, that Yvonne was hosting an antique exhibition.
The event would undoubtedly attract numerous collectors.
She had been worried about finding potential clients.
And these people? They were precisely the clientele she needed.

Samuel simply smiled without answering, then asked, "Shall we go?" Seeing the anticipation in Samuel's eyes, Serena felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. She nodded, "Yes." The following evening, they headed to the exhibition together.
As expected, several renowned collectors from Alderburg were present.
Serena's intention was simply to make an appearance, get acquainted with them, and, ideally, exchange contact details.
Therefore, she wasn't in a hurry. Upon entering the exhibition hall, she focused her attention on the items on display.
Samuel noticed her bright eyes fixed on the antiques, and couldn't help but smile. "Do you really like antiques that much?" Serena gazed at a gold-inlaid jade hairpin behind the glass. "Yes, they're not just objects; they're like living historians. If you listen closely, can't you hear them narrating tales from the past?" Samuel's smile deepened.
Just then, a lively voice interrupted.
"Samuel! It's really you! I thought..." Yvonne's smile froze when she spotted Serena. "What are you doing here?" Serena's intuition told her that Yvonne hadn't forgotten Samuel over the years.
Before Serena could speak, Samuel interjected, "I asked Serena to accompany me." Yvonne's expression changed, and a flicker of resentment appeared in her eyes.
"She's not welchere!" "Miss Frost," Samuel replied calmly, "isn't this event open to anyone with an invitation?" "Yes," Yvonne lifted her chin slightly, "but the invitation was for you. How was I to know you'd bring Serena?" Samuel frowned. "Miss Frost..." "Samuel," Serena gently interrupted, "if Miss Frost doesn't want us here, we should leave." "Yvonne, there's no need for this." Another voice emerged, soft and melodious, like the first thaw of spring. Serena's heart skipped a beat.

Gone was the pallor; her complexion was now vibrant, like a flower ready to bloom.
Cynthia stopped in front of Serena and said, "Serena is a dear friend of mine. Could you let her stay, as a favor to me?"
Yvonne shot Serena a look of disdain. "Cynthia, this woman took the place that should have been yours as Mrs. Vance. Why are you defending her?"
Cynthia smiled gently. "Yvonne, it's all a misunderstanding. Serena wasn helpingtake care of Aaron. There was never anything to take. Right, Serena?" All eyes turned to Serena. She looked at Cynthia, who wore a fragile smile, and slightly curled her lips:
"Helping you? I've been with Aaron for four years, and he never never mentioned you as his girlfriend. How could I be helping you?"
