“What? Someone actually made it out? “Grace perked up immediately, firing off questions. “Who is it?
Where can we find this person?”
The mysterious oasis was a labyrinth of unknowns, and anyone managing to navigate their way out
likely possessed valuable insights. Hence, getting hold of such information wouldn’t just reduce risks
but also boost the chances of a successful treasure hunt.
Garrett replied, “The person in question is Ryan Gale, a member of the Arcane Path Guild. He is known
for his expertise in escape techniques.”
He continued, “His disappearance raised concerns three days ago when he ventured into the oasis and
went completely off the radar.
“Unexpectedly, he has now reappeared in Dusthaven Village with severe injuries. The village chief is
taking care of him right now.”
“Ryan Gale from the Arcane Path Guild? “Jackson arched an eyebrow. “I’ve heard of him. He holds
quite a reputation in the martial world and has attained an advanced stage of divinity -an undeniable

Although the Arcane Path Guild wasn’t affiliated with the Southwestern forces, it possessed strength on
par with the Embersteel Order.
“Ms. Linsor, who are these people?” Garrett looked at Jackson’s group with intrigue.
“They are skilled members of the Embersteel Order-friends I’ve just made,” Grace replied.
“Embersteel Order?” Garrett furrowed his brow, visibly surprised. He knew it was risky to offend the
Embersteel Order, a major sect in the Southwest. Still, he was surprised at how quickly she befriended
their disciples.
Despite his initial reservations, he couldn’t ignore the idea that traveling under the sect’s protection
would make their journey much safer.
“Let’s not dwell on that. Guide me to the village chief’s house. I need to talk to Ryan,” Grace urged.
Upon hearing that, Garrett promptly led her there.
Given Ryan’s crucial role and the broad interest from various groups, she needed to act promptly to
prevent another party from seizing the opportunity.
Five minutes later, they arrived at the village chief’s residence. It was a charming two-story cottage with
a courtyard adorned with a variety of flowers and plants. As they approached the courtyard gate, a
middle-aged man promptly blocked their path.
“What brings you here? Outsiders are strictly forbidden!” The middle-aged man, brandishing an iron
rod, blocked their path with a stern demeanor.
“Sir, we have an urgent matter and need to meet the village chief. Could you please inform him?”
Grace politely requested.
“The village chief has made it clear that he won’t be seeing anyone today. Please leave,” the middle-
aged man replied coldly.
“We’re Ryan’s acquaintances. We’ve heard he’s severely injured and currently in the village chief’s
residence, so we’ve come to visit him,” Garrett lied.
“No outsiders, no exceptions. Leave immediately!” The middle-aged man impatiently gestured for them
to leave. Garrett’s expression darkened.”Listen! I’m warning you not to overstep your bounds!”
He couldn’t fathom how a nameless man dared to block his path, a move that hinted at impending

“Oh? Planning to get physical, are you? “the middle-aged man challenged, slamming his iron rod into
the ground. He went on, “Come at me! If you’ve got the guts, give it a try. Let’s see if you can leave this
place in one piece!”
Dusthaven Village, standing strong over the years, showcased its enduring influence. Although it had
encountered disturbances from troublemakers in the past, the community had successfully dealt with
such disruptions.
“Captain Wilder, please calm yourself,” Grace intervened, stopping Garrett in his tracks. She swiftly
removed her pendant and approached the middle- aged man.
She handed it to him and said, ” Consider this a small token, a gesture of goodwill. We urgently need to
discuss important matters. Your kindness would be greatly appreciated.”
The middle-aged man’s eyes lit up as he examined the pendant. “Ah! This pendant seems to be of
exceptional quality. It must hold significant value, right?”
