Calliope looked at Fleur, letting out a soft chuckle. "I doubt you can afford my fee."
Fleur froze, staring at Calliope as if she couldn't believe her ears.
"The Miracle Doctor's fees aren't exactly a secret," Calliope continued. "You can ask around if you like. Besides, |
don't really enjoy getting involved in complicated situations."
Even if she managed to help Yvette conceive, there was still a chance of miscarriage. And even if the pregnancy
went full term, the baby's health wasn't guaranteed. If she agreed to help and something went wrong, Fleur and
Yvette would surely find a way to blher.
Calliope had no interest in thankless tasks.
"You could always consult other renowned doctors," she said, standing up to leave.

But Fleur grabbed her sleeve immediately. "Callie, please. | know | haven't treated you well in the past, and you
have every right to be upset. But I've changed, and I truly regret it.
If Yvette can't have a baby, how am | supposed to have a grandchild? I'll pay you whatever you want! Just
please, help us! I've already asked other doctors. You're the Miracle Doctor; you're the best there is! If nobody
else can do it, | know you can."
Fleur looked at Calliope earnestly, her face aged even more than Calliope remembered. Yvette and Gideon had
only been married a short while, yet Fleur looked as if she'd been worn down over the years.
It seemed karma had finally caround for her. Calliope remembered Fleur's past arrogance, but now she
seemed genuinely remorseful.
Calliope said nothing, while Fleur gritted her teeth and produced a card. "There's a hundred thousand here. Not a
small amount, right?"
She slid the card toward Calliope. "Here you are. After she conceives, I'll give you one hundred thousand more. If
the baby is born healthy, I'll add the samount."
Fleur was resolute, her gaze never leaving Calliope.
"Callie, we're family, after all. | know your services are probably worth more, but please, helpthis once."
Calliope studied Fleur. "I can't
guarantee she'll fully recover. Even if she does pregnancy might still be difficult, there could be miscarriage.
Moreover, even if she successfully conceives, and the pregnancy is
stable, there'd be issues at prenatal checkup.
| can't promise anything. She might be able to get pregnant again, but it could end up being all for nothing."
Calliope made sure to lay out everything clearly. But Fleur wouldn't hear of it. "It doesn't matter, as long as she
conceives. The rest is in fate's hands.

The doctors have said she has trouble even getting pregnant. If she can just conceive, I'll figure out how to keep
the baby! You just need to make her body work properly. You're the Miracle Doctor; this should be child's play for
you, right?"
Calliope gave Fleur a long look. "Are you sure about this?"
"Absolutely," Fleur replied.
"If something goes wrong, you won't cback blaming me?" Calliope asked again.
"No matter what happens, | won't hold you responsible!" Fleur assured her. "If anything goes wrong, it'll be that
fool's fault!"
Calliope sighed. "I can help her get her health back on track, but she must be careful herself. During her
recovery, she really needs to take care of herself."
