Calliope gave Gideon a quick glance. "I actually think Calista is quite suitable."
Gideon's face fell instantly. "What do you mean by that? Are you saying I'm less capable than a high schooler?"
Calliope nodded. "Calista is more qualified to manage the Baker Group. Silas isn't blind-he can see it. If | can see
it, surely he can too.

Calliope slipped on her shoes, turned and headed for the door.
Yvette, fuming, lunged at Calliope, but Calliope easily caught her wrist.
"Yvette, instead of losing your temper here, maybe you should go take care of your health! You might want to
ask your doctor if you'll ever be able to have kids."
She released Yvette's wrist.
Yvette looked at Calliope, trembling. "What are you saying? Are you cursing me, Calliope?"
"Do | need to? Aren't you already on a self-destructive path?"
Calliope glanced at Yvette's

In the Baker Group building, Gideon stormed up to Silas's office door.
"Mr. Myers is busy right now. Please wait a moment," Fagan said coolly.
"I need to see Uncle Silas right now! Letin!" Gideon demanded urgently, shoving past Fagan. Fagan
shrugged helplessly.
Silas's voice cfrom inside the office. "Let him in."
Gideon pushed the door open eagerly, but as soon as he did, he froze in the doorway. He stared at Silas, unable
to believe what he was seeing.
