Chapter 694 A Helpless Woman With No One to Rely On
Joseph met Noah's gaze and smiled mockingly. "What are you afraid of?"
Noah remained composed and smiled. "Cnow. If someone breaks into your house in the middle of the night,
wouldn't you be afraid?"
"Is that even possible? Did someone shout 'thief’ or something?"
Noah's smile faded slightly, and annoyance flickered across his face. "Maybe Coco didn't satisfy you enough, so
you're now bothering me?"
Radiating displeasure and coldness, Joseph was clearly in a bad mood. Besides Chloe, who else could have
caused him such discomfort?
Joseph was unwilling to say more, simply remaining silent and looking Noah over coldly. He then drove away,
leaving Noah and Xavia in the front yard.
Xavia watched the car speed off into the distance, gritting her teeth in dissatisfaction. He had left her in the

Joseph was an emotionless hunk of rock.
Noah, however, had his eyes fixed on the third floor of the manor. A light was on in Chloe's room, and the bright
light reflected off his tall and elegant figure, making him shine like a guiding light on the road ahead. He slowly
withdrew his gaze. His eyelashes covered up the possessiveness in his eyes.
"Five years have passed and you're still making no progress?"
Xavia had failed in conquering Joseph's heart. Now, she had also failed to gain Jasper's favor. A valuable chess
piece was wasted just like that.
"How dare you say that. You haven't won over Chloe either," Xavia retorted.
"Rest assured, | haven't failed as miserably as you."
He had not won over Chloe yet, but that was because he had never made his intentions clear. Currently, he and
Chloe were much closer than ever before, but he understood her personality and realized that rushing things
would only push her away. Patience was key, and he was willing to wait for the right moment.
Xavia's face flushed with frustration at Noah's words. "Keep Eustace in check and don't let him cnear me,"
she demanded firmly.
"Don't bother Coco anymore," he said calmly. He then considered for a moment before suggesting innocently,
"Or you could disappear from this city altogether."
He believed there was no hope for her relationship with Joseph as his heart was already occupied by Chloe. On
top of that, Xavia's presence might only lead to more encounters between Joseph and Chloe.
Xavia was taken aback. "Are you planning to kill me?"
"Tsk, I'm not as ruthless as Duskfall. It was just a figure of speech. Consider moving to another city. After all,
Joseph will never show interest in you anymore."
Xavia was infuriated. Grinding her teeth, she said, "Don't even think about it! We're in the sboat!"
She felt a deep sense of dissatisfaction—a genuine unwillingness to accept the facts. Why did all the outstanding
men in the world gravitate toward Chloe? They even mistreated her just to please Chloe. She was a helpless
woman with no one to rely on.
Noah chuckled. "I'll bestow you a handssum of money if you do. Give it sthought."

Chloe was reading in her room when she heard a knock on the door. She put down her book and subconsciously
glanced at the blueprints on the bedside table. After a moment of contemplation, she responded, "Cin."
The door opened, and Noah entered. He had not bothered to change before coming here, looking impressive in
his formal attire. From afar, he looked like a handsand robust young man.
"Oh, has the meeting ended?" Chloe blinked, curious about his sudden appearance.
"Yes, we had a few matters to discuss, so it dragged on a little late. Grandfather's staying the night at the villa
near the office. He doesn't feel like traveling back right now."
"Yeah, spending the night there should be good for him. Get the driver to pick him up tomorrow."
Noah pulled out a chair from under the table and sat down, asking casually, "Why did Joseph cto see you?"
Chloe shrugged and recounted what happened today.
Noah stood up and looked over her from head to toe. "Did you get hurt?"
"No, | sensed something was off early on and was prepared."
"That's good. Did Joseph mention anything else? | bumped into him when | got back, and he seemed off."
Chloe clenched the book in her hand and fell silent for a few seconds. "There is another thing."
