“Meow?”

“Yes, the test is done.” Lica smiled. She looked at the test result on the computer and her eyes narrowed slightly. As she had expected, the intelligence of this little cat was more special as compared to the other pets.

It was so much higher.

“What’s the result?” Kyle walked towards Lica.

“Professor Kyle, based on the test result, this cat had the intelligence that somewhat matched a teenager’s intelligence. However, her action might be somewhat more similar to that of a little kid but sometimes it can also match that of a teenager.”

Teenager.

Kyle nodded.

It seemed that he really needed to find the other pets and figured out about what happened to them. If it was really true that they somehow absorbed the intelligence of the humans due to the red rain, that could make people hated these pets if it was announced.

But for now, he will keep this thought to himself.

.....

“Little Kitty.”

“Meow?”

“Let’s go back.”

“Meow!”

“Ah wait, do you want to put on a collar for your pet? It will be easier for identification in the future to avoid mixing her with the other stray animals. There are still a lot of stray animals in City B right now.” Lica cleaned up the table and stood up.

“Meow!”

Kate would never ever wear that damned collar. She still want to think of herself as a human being, so how could she accept wearing a collar that would make her look like more of an animal?

She refused.

Refused greatly.

“It seems that Little Kitty didn’t like the idea of wearing a collar.” Kyle patted Kate’s head and looked at Lica. “I don’t think there’s any rule that said every pet had to wear a collar, is there?”

“No, there are no such rule.” Lica could feel the chills coming from Kyle and smiled professionally. “Since you’re not willing, we will not force this notion, Professor Kyle.”

“Good.”

Kyle carried Kate out and Lica dropped to the ground.

‘Even though I’m an awakened, I could still feel that terrifying pressure coming from him.’

After talking with Kyle jovially about Kate, Lica had somehow forgotten about Kyle’s reputation from the previous report. A lot of people were reporting this professor because of his attitude and also a sense of oppression.

It was so strong.

Even now, Lica could feel fear from the bottom of her heart when she heard the question Kyle asked to her. He was only staring at her, but she had the feeling as if he wanted to kill her if she forced him to follow that additional rule.

Lica took a deep breath.

She wiped her sweat.

No matter what, she would have to make sure never to cross Professor Kyle’s bottom line. It seemed that this man was indeed someone who could easily be triggered by others when it was talking about his cat.

Though, he could also be very friendly when he wanted to know more about his little cat.

‘At the very least, it’s good that I don’t have to interact with him that much.’

...

“Meow.”

After Kate turned into a cat, she was a bit more sensitive to emotion fluctuation. At that time, she could see that Kyle was angry when Lica mentioned about that collar.

She didn’t want it and had said it.

But it didn’t mean that Kyle also had to be so angry towards Lica, right?

“Sorry, Little Kitty.” Kyle patted Kate’s head and looked at his father, who had finished his call and now looking in their direction with solemn expression. “Is there anything wrong, Father?”

“Kyle, I need to borrow Little Kitty.”

“What?” Kyle’s tone was unkind.

“As you know that the military had been dealing with the insect infestation. It seemed that there’s a queen in a certain warehouse inside the city and had been blocked to prevent anyone from getting close. Some of my men are wounded terribly and the healers are not enough,” General Ryan explained.

Healers not enough?

Kate recalled that most of the healers in General Ryan’s army were those of wood elements. It would be a lie to say that they were not working hard, but the number of the wounded were simply too much.

“Can’t you use normal medical equipment?” Kyle rolled his eyes.

“Come with me and you will know why I need Little Kitty. I have already contacted the healer, but they actually asked for 100 third rank crystal.” General Ryan’s face was as black as pot.

The crystals were also ranked.

It was as simple as crystals from normal mutated animals were at rank 1. If the giant mutated animals had advanced and grew even bigger, their crystals would also be a big bigger, they were called as rank 2 and so on.

So far, they could deal up to rank 4 giant mutated animals but the cost to defeat those at rank 4 was still very high.

Thus, their targets were mostly those at rank 3 and rank 2. Even though they had been killing a lot of giant mutated animals, rank 3 crystals were still valued greatly. It would be impossible for them to throw these crystals out so easily.

“How much do you hope they will ask for payment?” Kyle rolled his eyes. “And the healers only need the green color, which is quite rare to drop.”

“That’s why I want to ask for your little cat’s help. Besides, I can give you all the green crystals as long as Little Kitty worked for our family.” General Ryan definitely could do this and there were a lot of his subordinates who listened to him.

Kyle frowned.

“That will put Little Kitty at the spotlight.”

“Indeed. This is why, the decision is yours.”

“No, it’s not in my hand.” Kyle looked at the furry little cat in his hand and took a deep breath. “What do you want, Little Kitty?”
