If I were to Compare You to a Flower [Part 3]
“Other people’s love stories taste as sweet as honey, Arthur-sama.”
“I-I see?”
Although Arthur nodded, what Marion and Emma said was difficult to understand for him. ‘Something like love… isn’t it more fun to experience it yourself than just watching it?’ was what Arthur thought.
After that, the girls talked about the flower that suited each other’s image and chatted merrily.
‘Since you’ve picked this topic anyway, you could have talked about the young lord you wish would propose to you…’ Something about Arthur’s younger sister and her friends was fundamentally different from the girls he knew. And Prince Edward beside him was only gazing at this scene with a smile even though the young lady the prince devoted his whole heart to was right before him.
The prince just sat there like a stone when his biggest rival was beside him, and that very rival took every opportunity to catch the young lady’s attention by remarking, “This flower suits Emma-sama, that flower represents Emma-sama.”
It was just so frustrating to watch for Arthur.
“…Your Highness? If Your Highness were to give Lady Emma a flower, what flower would it be?”
Although Arthur understood that the prince was happy to be able to spend a lunch break with Emma, he hoped the prince could have some more conversation with her. And so, Arthur gave timely help.

Hmm… After pondering for some time, the prince opened his mouth,
“I guess it would be lily of the valley. Don’t you think that Emma’s graceful and lovely aura resembles that of a lily of the valley?”
“Ptui…!!! *COUGH*! *COUGH*!”
The prince’s words made William spit his tea out his nose exaggeratedly.
“Y-Your Highness… That… *cough* You are talking about who just now…”
Including their past life, his older sister had never once had anything to do with the word ‘graceful.’
“What is it? Do you have a problem with that, William?”
“N-No, um, I… *ack* *cough*”
‘I hope Your Highness will see reality more.
For the sake of the country we live in, and more than anything, for your own sake.’
The words William was about to say were stifled by the huge mouthful of tea he spat out and couldn’t come out of his mouth.
“William? Are you alright? It’s not good to eat and drink in a hurry, okay?”
Emma reminded while patting her choking younger brother’s back like a caring older sister.
“*cough*… (Nee-sama is the last person I want to hear that from).”
‘Why is she so popular even though she has been doing whatever she likes so willfully?!’ groaned William in his mind.
“William must be so happy to have a kind, graceful, and cute older sister.”
The prince looked at Emma with a sluggish smile, a far cry from his usual cold face.
He was talking to William, but his eyes were glued to Emma.
“uh… (then try to change places with me for once! See just how miserable I’ve been spending my days!) ……yes…”
William suppressed the urge to shout and squeezed out an answer.
“Then… how about you, William-kun? What flower will you give Lady Emma?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmFeeling amused, Arthur asked William the same question he asked the prince.
“A flower… for Nee-sama…”
It was a tough question for a shy Japanese boy who was a late bloomer.
He had never given a flower to a girl.
What’s more, the receiving end was his older sister… Just thinking about it didn’t feel pleasant at all.
“Ummm… Ah.”
“Did you think of one?”
Marion encouraged softly.
“Yes. Nee-sama is touch-me-not… no, maybe a tropical pitcher plant? Yes, right, that’s it!”
A flower that would make his older sister happy… William could only think of insectivorous plants or jade plants (aka money plants) and nothing else.
Insects lured by the sweet smell of the tropical pitcher plant would find it difficult to crawl out once they fell into the pitcher bag containing digestive fluids.
In William’s eyes, Joshua and the prince were the pitiful insects caught in the honey trap.
“Oh, William-sama! We have never heard of such a flower, haven’t we, Caitlyn?”
“Oh, William-sama! Yup, we have never heard of such a flower, Catherine.”
“ “Please answer seriously.” ” The twins were upset.
