Chapter 214
Chapter 214
She pulled away from her thoughts and noticed that she had drank the entire bottle of red wine. When
Eleven saw that she was about to open another bottle, he quickly stopped her, “Miss, since the last
time you drank too much, your stomach hurt. The doctor said that you should lessen your alcohol
intake.”
“It’s only two bottles. Besides, with my tolerance, I won’t get drunk.”
Eleven sighed. “Miss, did you forget that your alcohol tolerance is weaker now?”
Being obstructed twice in a row, Grace was a little annoyed. She simply pushed all the wine glasses
and bottles in front of her away. Tine I’m not drinking anymare! Get those out of my sight!”
Then she crossed her arms and closed her eyes to sleep.
The bodyguard chuckled and tried to appease her. Then he signaled to the other bodyguards. Soon,
Grace’s small table was cleared away.
By the time the plane reached S City, it was already night.
Grace was hesitating about whether to go back to the Smith mansion when she received a call from
Joan
Joan seemed happy for her when she had announced her identity and returned to 5 City.
“Grace! You’re finally back. How about coming out to the Honey Har tonight? There are many old
friends who want to see you! I’m sure you missed them!”
It was true that all of her childhood friends had not seen each other for many years.
She only brought Eleven with her.
Twelve and liftern had to go and back a hotel and arrange for their accommodation because she
decided to sleep outside tonight. Meanwhile, Seventeen was sent to report to her father that she was
alright.
By the time she got to the bar, everyone else had already arrived.
Adrain was also there, as well as Eric, the daughter of the fifth son of the Grant family, and other former

friends. There were more than ten people in total.
The moment Grace pushed open the private room door, Joan and Eric, who were hiding behind the
door, jumped out holding confetti poppers and popped shiny little ribbons everywhere.
“Welcome back!”
Grace looked at their welcome preparations and smiled sincerely, “Thank you.”
Joan took her arm and dragged her to the main seat of the sofa. ‘No. Thank you, Grace! You didn’t
even know how devastating the news of your death was. We’re just glad that you’ve finally decided
to return.”
For the whole night, they all had a good time, clinking glasses one after the other.
At some point, Joan and Eric sat next to her. She had always treated them like her younger sisters so
they had the closest relationships.
Thinking about the piece of information her bodyguards told her on the plane, Grace turned her
attention to Eric, “I heard that your eldest cousin is now in possession of the Grant family’s assets. Did
he make things difficult for your family?
“No, My dad has never been interested in such things. It was my second uncle who was in fierce

competition with him. So after my cousin won and took power, he treated us pretty well”
Grace patted her head and smiled in relief. That’s good.”
“However, my cousin is also quite pitiful When he returned from a mission in the army half a year ago,
his whole body was covered in blood. He was seriously injured. I heard that he vomited blood every
day, which worried Grandpa. I admire him for still being able to take back his rightful birthright from our
second uncle’s family.”
Grace did not say anything.
She had just arrived in S City, and she had already heard two different people compliment this eldest
grandson of Mr. Grant, Eder Grant. Now she was a little curious about him.
Just as she was lost in thought, Joan’s seat was quietly emptied and then later occupied by someone
else.
Grace turned her head and noticed that it was Adrain.
He still looked as elegant and handsome as always as he raised his glass to her.
“Hi, Grace. I haven’t seen you for more than six months. You’re as beautiful as ever.”
She smiled and clinked glasses with him. “When did the Grammer family finally find Mr. Adrain
Grammer and had him return to 5 City from abroad?”
Adrain’s expression stiffened,
Grace’s attitude towards him seemed to be that of when she interacted with strangers.
In addition, the mention of his disappearance and return made him boil with anger!
It was all that Edgar’s fault! That as shole actually threw him onto a cargo ship and sent him to a
desolate and unfamiliar country, causing his family to struggle to find him.
However, now that Edgar was dead, his chances of being with Grace grew.
Thinking of this, his expression was able to maintain a calmness. “I’ve been back for several months.
I originally planned to go to Frant City to find you, but there was something at the company that
made me unable to leave. However, I heard what happened in the Fallen family”
The smile on Grace’s face dropped slightly, and her hand that was holding the wine glass tightened.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Did I upset you?”
Adrain looked at her apologetically and reached out to hold her hand in an attempt to comfort her.
However, Grace calmly got up and poured herself some wine, avoiding his touch in the process Adrain
wasn’t disheartened. He looked at her affectionately with his narrowed eyes, “Grace, you don’t have to
carry that burden. Now that you’re alone, you can let me help you. Let me take care of you, okay?”
Grace frowned in disbelief.
Did he nean to say that Edgar was a burden?
“Mr. Grammer, today is a party. It seems inappropriate for you to talk about this.”
She gave him a look of warning.
After all, so many of her friends were present, and she didn’t want to dampen everyone’s mood.
“Grace…
Adrain’s eyes gradually dimmed, and he showed an expression of hurt. “The past is already the past.
You always have to start a new life.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmGrace didn’t even look at him. She poured two glasses of red wine and said to Eric next to her, “You
guys continue drinking. I’ll go to the bathroom.”
When she came out of the private room, her face was flushed red and she felt a little dizzy.
She really could not drink a lot these days. In her emotional turmoil, she hurriedly drank a lot of wine
earlier. Now she might actually be drunk.
Her walk was unsteady so she held on to the corridor walls and took it slowly.
Adrain’s words flashed through her mind over and over again, causing her to feel a dullness in her
chest.
Everyone around her was persuading her to stop mourning, forget about Edgar, and start a new life.
So why couldn’t she do it?
Six months had already passed, and she still couldn’t forget about the past. When she thought about it,
she still felt very guilty and uncomfortable.
She took a deep breath and tried to suppress her emotions.
However, out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar tall man’s back.
“This back is…”
Her breathing stopped, and she shook her head in shock. Her vision became much clearer. Her eyes
followed that back and watched as it disappeared at a corner.
“Edgar? Is it you? Is that really you?!”
She immediately chased after him towards that corridor. However, when she turned the same corner,
there was no longer that familiar figure.
When Eleven heard her shouting, he hurried over to support her when she sta ggered/
“Miss, are you drunk?”
Grace grabbed his arm as if to confirm, using extra force.
“I’m not drunk. I just saw Edgar! It must be him! I can never mistake that back. Eleven, he’s not dead.
He must not be dead! It must be him!”
Eleven was dumbfounded.
Seeing Grace’s determined expression, he had to let her stay where she was and wait as she
thoroughly inspected all the bar customers who passed by.
Finally, he sighed. “Miss, you must have mistaken someone else.”
Grace shook her head firmly. “Impossible! It has to be him. It has to be! Close the bar. I will check all
the private rooms one by one!”
