Chapter 1802

Back in the day, Marlinie had rushed to him in desperation, pleading for him to take in her daughter for a mere

three months, after which she would return to claim her.

Given that the request had come from his goddess, the notion of refusal never crossed his mind. He agreed without

a second thought.

However, three months flew by, and Marlinie did not return as promised to take her daughter. With the presence of

Ellinor in their home causing strife and tension and Tracy’s constant nagging, he sent the child to the countryside.

Who would have thought that just a week after sending Ellinor away, Marlinie would reappear in search of her

daughter?

Facing his goddess, Arnold was too ashamed to confess that he had sent her daughter away. Fearing it would

tarnish his image in her eyes, he lied, saying that the child had contracted a strange illness and passed away.

Marlinie was heartbroken. She asked for her daughter’s remains and left.

The urn he gave her, however, contained the ashes of a pet dog once owned by his eldest daughter, Sheila.

Many years had passed since that incident, and Arnold never expected Marlinie to discover the truth and confront

him.

Arnold’s remaining silent only made Marlinie’s resentment grow. “Speak up! Why did you separate us?”

Arnold could not provide a reasonable explanation, so he just fell to his knees beside Marlinie’s hospital bed. “I’m

sorry, Marlinie! Please forgive me… But considering I didn’t harm your daughter, could you please spare me? Could

you ask those guys outside to leave me alone?”

Marlinie had nothing to say. She stared at the pathetic man groveling in front of her, wondering why she had ever

entrusted Pearl to this man.

While Marlinie held her tongue, Lea did not hold back. She stepped forward, pointed at Arnold, and venomously

spat. “You dare to claim that you didn’t harm Ellinor?! Our investigation showed that you never took care of her.

Ellinor survived through her own willpower, resilience, and a bit of luck! She was fortunate enough to come across a

kind-hearted nun who saved her from starvation. You have no right to claim you took care of her. You shameless

pig!”

Arnold, even after being scolded by a child, did not grow angry. He knew from the people outside that this little girl

and the woman sitting beside Marlinie’s bed were not to be trifled with.

He wisely listened, continuously kowtowing and begging for mercy.

“Yes! I wronged Ellinor! It’s all my fault! I know I was wrong, but please let me go… or call Ellinor over. I’ll apologize

to her face-to-face and kowtow at her feet. She’s always been understanding; she’ll forgive me.”

Lea was appalled. “You… How can there be such a weak man in this world?! Next to you, my clueless dad looks like

a knight in shining armor! Go away; don’t upset Ms. Marlinie anymore! The sight of you disgusts us!”

Hearing this, Arnold thought he was saved, and he quickly got up. “Alright… Alright! I’m leaving. I’m leaving right

away.”

As he spoke, he hastily headed for the door.

Marlinie was a patient woman, but thinking of the hardships her daughter had endured over the years made her

patience run thin.

Taking a deep breath, she said, “Lea! I need a favor!”

Lea was quick to understand. “Don’t worry, Ms. Marlinie. I’ll make sure Ellinor gets justice!”

With that, she quickly followed Arnold out.

Arnold thought he was safe once he left the hospital room, but he was stopped again by the men in black waiting at

the door..

Without orders from the young lady of the house, they were not allowed to let this man leave.
