"Oh, f.u.c.k!! Where the h.e.l.l is she?!!" The driver yelled, directing his question at his colleague who was sitting right beside him, in the passenger seat.
Just like the driver, the other guy was a guard who was asked to bring Amy to Brian Stark's nightclub.
However, the other guy had been too busy playing video games on his phone, so he didn't hear the door opening.
He lazily asked. "Huh? What did you say?"
"Stop playing that game, you dimwit. The boss' daughter is gone!!" He bawled right before he stopped the car at the side of the road.
"What?!" The other guard turned around to look at the back seat and realized that the driver wasn't lying.
"Oh! F.u.c.k!!" He stepped out of the car to investigate and realized that there was really no one sitting in the back seat.
He raised his head to ask the driver who was now stepping out of the car. "Where the f u.c.k did she go?!"
"How the f u.c.k should I know?!"
"B-But, weren't you the one driving?"
"Oh, no. Don't you dare go there, mister. My job is to keep my eyes on the road and your job was to ensure that she remained in the car."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNot being able to counter the driver's words, the guard clicked his tongue in frustration and stared across the street as he cussed, slamming his fist on the top of the car. "F.u.c.k!!!"
"Oh, s.h.i.t, I have to inform the boss she's gone missing," The driver admitted.
But the other guard tilted his head in disbelief at what he just heard. "What the f.u.c.k did you just say?"
"What's wrong? Shouldn't I inform him?" The driver retorted back.
"You want the boss to plant both our heads on a stake?" The guard questioned, then added.
"Just shut the f.u.c.k up and help me find her before she hides among the crowd."
The driver nodded and pulled out the key from the ignition.
He knew his colleague might be right. There was still a high probability that she was currently hiding somewhere and watching them from close by.
There was no way she could have run far away from them. If they did a thorough search around the street, they should be able to spot her in any cafe that was close by or in a nearby shop.
He followed the guard as they searched for Amy, hoping she wouldn't be too far away.
It still felt weird because the guard was sure that he heard the sound of the door opening, but he didn't see anyone jumping or running out of the car.
He kept searching and searching, hoping and praying that the boss wouldn't call to find out what was keeping them from bringing Amy to him.
After about an hour and a half, his phone vibrated and the caller turned out to be Brian Stark.
"Oh, f.u.c.k! It's the boss!!" He yelled, turning his phone towards the guard that was a bit far from him.
Cold sweat began to break out on the guard's face as he motioned for the driver to answer the call.
Just when the driver was about to answer the call, he heard two children playing and shouting towards each other behind him.
"R. I. P!!"
" R. I. P!!"
Well, if he had calmed down and listened carefully, he would have noticed that the children were actually yelling the title of a movie they watched last night, which happened to be R. I. P. D and not R. I. P, but because of the fear consuming his heart, the driver only heard the latter.
He felt like their words were directed at him and he couldn't shake off the feeling of dread and foreboding as he tried to answer the call.
With a loud gulp, he swallowed a huge chunk of saliva and spoke into the phone.
"Hello?"

Meanwhile, just before the driver removed the key and while he was still arguing with the guard, both of them failed to notice that Amy and Kevin were in fact still in the car.
Kevin smiled, watching both men panic about how Brian Stark would have their heads on a stake.
He glanced towards Amy and urged her to remain quiet, while pulling her arm as they both stepped out of the car without the driver or the guard, noticing that they walked right past them.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAmy couldn't hold back the excitement on her face as she had been smiling ever since she saw Kevin in the car.
It felt like whenever he was around, she couldn't help but feel relaxed and happy, knowing he was right beside her.
When Kevin noticed that they had walked a great distance from where the guard and driver were searching for Amy.
He finally deactivated his Cubic Fabricated Reality skill and said.
"Come with me. My car is parked around here."
Amy nodded and followed him while staring at him in awe.
Once Kevin's Hyundai Elantra was spotted, they both entered the car and buckled their seatbelts as well.
But Amy couldn't take her eyes off Kevin as she was amazed at how he got her away from her driver and her guard right under their noses.
Unlike her daydream which involved Kevin barging into the mansion and swooping her away in a thrilling, action style, she couldn't help but be fascinated by how he handled her escape discreetly.
Kevin noticed her gaze and chuckled. "What's wrong? You want a kiss?" He teased her.
Amy nodded and pointed at her cheek. "Yes, right here," Kevin leaned towards her soft cheek and planted a kiss on her rose-tinted cheek.
"Happy now?" He asked, noticing how Amy smiled while giggling to herself.
"Yes, I've forgiven you for coming to pick me up late as well."
"Wait, what? You were mad at me?"
Amy pouted cutely and stared out the car window. "Of course, I was. I was scared that you weren't coming."
