Chapter 256
That sday, the police station received a reconciliation letter from the Levine family, agreeing to mediation
and no longer pursuing Brittany's responsibility.
When Christina and Gregory arrived at the police station, Brittany was pitifully sitting on a bench. She was still
wearing the sclothes as before, dirty and wrinkled, clinging to her body. "Brittany, my darling!" Seeing her
precious daughter in such a miserable state, Christina rushed over and hugged her tightly. Instantly, an
unpleasant odor filled Christina's nose. It was because Brittany had.refused to use the bathroom at the station
and ended up wetting herself. She had never been so humiliated in her life.
"Mom, why did it take you so long to come? Do you know how | spent this whole night?" Seeing Christina,
Brittany cried as she complained, "Why did you wait all night to rescue me!" Christina felt as though her heart
was bleeding. She hugged Brittany tightly, not even caring about the smell. "I'm sorry, it's my fault. Don't worry,
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBrittany, you will never have to face this kind of humiliation again. Everyone who has wronged you will be
punished a thousand times over!"
Christina said this with gritted teeth, and images of the Levine family, along with Paisley's face, flashed through
her mind.
Brittany didn't want to hear any of Christina's nonsense. Annoyed, she pushed Christina away. "lI want to leave
right now. | want to change clothes and take a shower!" Christina nodded repeatedly, pulling Brittany up. "Okay,
we're going hright now."
"Home?" Brittany frowned, perhaps because she had spent the whole day at the station. Her mood wasn't great,
and she wasn't happy looking at Christina. "I don't want to go back to that crappy house. Taketo a hotel!"
Just the thought of returning to that musty old house made Brittany feel wronged.
"No, no, we're going back to the villa." Christina coaxed her gently.
"Back to
the villa? Did Dad say | could cback?" Brittany's heart lifted. She thought that Gregory had finally forgiven
her and was willing to accept her again.
At that moment, Gregory, who had finished the procedures, walked over with a beaming smile. "Brittany, my
good daughter!" He had intended to hug Brittany, but as soon as he got close, he smelled the awful odor on her
and immediately stepped back. His admiration for the Beaumont family and the Godard family helped him resist
the urge to cover his nose and curse. He still maintained a stiff smile on his face.
Brittany certainly noticed Gregory's changing expressions. She knew her current appearance was absolutely
terrible. She could even see the
people at the police station walking around her, avoiding her.

The unprecedented feeling of humiliation made her eyes well up. In the past, if this kind of social death had
happened, Gregory would have turned and walked away. But now, he wouldn't, and he couldn't.
Seeing Brittany cry, he hurried to comfort her, "Don't cry, my daughter. I'll take you hnow."
Brittany stopped crying and looked at Gregory in surprise. "Dad, you really wantto chome?"
"Of course, the reason | kicked you out before was because | was impulsive. I've been regretting it these past few
days. To be honest, all of this is Paisley's fault. If it weren't for her, | wouldn't have made the impulsive mistake of
kicking you out." Gregory couldn't find any other excuse, so he just blamed everything on Paisley.
Brittany's face darkened at the mention of Paisley. She wouldn't forget that one of the main reasons she ended
up in the police station was because of Paisley.
It was Paisley who had refused to help her, coldly watching her suffer while the Levine family mother and
daughter took advantage of her.
