Chapter 184
Early in the morning, Eloise took Milo out for a walk.
Dressed in a sporty outfit, her long legs were on full display in the early summer weather, making for quite an
appealing sight. At least that was what Harvey thought when he caught sight of her, swallowing hard. He got out
of his car and asked, "Walking the dog?"
Eloise ignored him and headed towards the lake with Milo.
Milo turned back to bark at him a few times.
Harvey lit a cigarette and trailed behind her without a word.
Eloise paid him no mind. She walked the dog for an hour, had breakfast, and grabbed a bag of bread and milk on
her way back.
When she was going upstairr, Harvey grabbed her wrist and asked, "Are you with him now?"
Eloise was taken aback. Then she understood, he must have seen it last night and followed her here!
With a cold expression, Eloise replied, "Attorney Horigan, we've broken up! Who I'm with is none of your
business, and | certainly don't need to report it to you!"
She forcefully shook off his hand and briskly walked into her apartment. After closing the door, she leaned
against it. She had been through this countless times. Every tshe saw Harvey, her heart would ache, but she

What was he trying to achieve by persistently bothering her?
Eloise had considered moving, but she felt like she hadn't done anything wrong. Why should she avoid him?
That night, Eloise rejected Landon, but he didn't give up. He was smart and careful in his approach.
He only saw her four or five times a month, either coming over for dinner or bringing gifts for Michelle. Over
time, everyone in town knew Landon was head over heels for her and was pursuing her!
That night, Landon ran into Eloise again. Brazenly, he had dinner at Eloise's apartment but he left at 9 o'clock,
leaving her no reason to reject him.
Eloise walked him downstairs. As Landon got into his car, she seemed to want to say something but ultimately
remained silent.
Landon burst into laughter. His laugh was youthful and charming, and any girl would fall for it. Even Eloise was
taken aback for a moment.
Landon probably realized that too. He leaned close to Eloise's ear and whispered, "You can't escape." With that,
he started his car with a triumphant smile and drove off.
Eloise stood in the night for a long time.
The night breeze was comforting. She sat on a bench under the sycamore tree, gently closing her eyes, and
feeling the soft wind brushing against her cheek.
A tall figure appeared. Harvey's gaze was complicated. He had seen it all. He saw Landon smiling at her, he saw
Eloise softening towards him, he couldn't help but grab Eloise's chin, kissing her lips, his tongue sliding in.
Eloise was caught off guard! When she opened her eyes, Harvey tightly embraced her. He held her so tightly that
her ribs began to hurt, his taste filling her mouth.
"Harvey, you're crazy, let go of me!" Eloise tried to push him away. But Harvey held her tight. She couldn't break
free, and he seemed to want more. Eloise was pinned against a tree, their bodies pressed tightly together.
He knew her body too well, always hitting the right spots. He wanted to awaken Eloise's memories, desperately
wanting to know if he still had a place in her heart. Without Landon, but only him, Harvey!
Their bodies were pressed tightly together, his actions intensely implying possession.
Eloise's eyes grew moist. She slapped him, and her chest was heaving after the slap. Harvey tightly gripped her
chin again, desperately kissing her.
Eloise stopped struggling. She let him kiss her, let him vent his feelings, she gently turned her face away, tears
welling up in her eyes. "Harvey, don't makedespise you even more! Even without Landon, there will be
others. | will get married someday. Are you planning to hauntfor the rest of my life?"
Harvey suddenly stopped. His forehead rested against her neck, breathing
heavily, his voice hoarse. "Eloise, I'd rather you hate me! At least that way, | still occupy a place in your heart!
But you treatlike I'm invisible. You know I'm downstairs, yet you cook for him, you walk him downstairs, and
you watch him laugh... you're giving him a chance!
"Eloise, shouldn't your heart have softened by now?

"Is it so hard to giveanother chance? You clearly still have feelings for me, you respond when | touch you..."
Eloise's eyes grew wetter. She softly closed her eyes. "Yes! Harvey, | do have feelings, isn't this a normal reaction
for a mature woman? Even if | find another man who's good in bed, | would still react. What does that prove?"
Harvey's face turned pale.
Eloise stood up straight, and their eyes locked in the night breeze. "Harvey, you were the one who didn't want
this! What's the point of saying all this now?"
After Eloise finished, she headed towards her apartment. After a few steps, she paused. "Don't chere
again!"
Harvey quietly watched Eloise's retreating figure. In that moment, he knew Eloise would never look back. No
matter what he did, she wouldn't cback!
"Eloise..." He whispered her name, his head pounding.
For the next half a month, Harvey was in a state of decay, spending his teither at work or drowning his
sorrows at a bar, always ending up drunk. Parker held his patience for half a month, before personally stepping
in to bring his son home.
A bucket of ice-cold water was poured over him from head to toe. Harvey jolted awake, wiping his face. "Dad!"
Parker pointed at him and scolded, "Have you got any pride left? Do you think getting drunk will solve anything?
If Eloise sees you like this, she'll only despise you more! Harvey, did | raise you like this... as a man, if you want
something, you should fight for it, seize it! Are you less capable than others?"
Harvey's face was gaunt, showing no emotion. He was silent for a while. Later, he adjusted his shirt collar and
said softly, "Dad, | got it!"
