Chapter 745 Overwhelming Jealousy And A Jacket Lysander felt that if all they did was eat before returning to the hotel, the vacation this twould practically be pointless.

Josiah also hoped that Lysander could enjoy herself, ideally forgetting all the repression and pain from the previous year. He voluntarily helped to carry her bag and push the baby stroller, allowing her to walk ahead without carrying anything.

The restaurant owner had good taste, and his descriptions were reliable. The seaside park he mentioned was not only scenic but also featured a shallow beach strewn with pebbles. It was a popular spot among locals and tourists alike, who often visited for walks and photos.

Sof the young people even brought along picnic mats and tents. It appeared that they had spent quite a bit of tthere.

Dressed in a simple long skirt and blouse, Lysander had her hair tied back with a plain black hair tie. But when she stood on the shallow beach, she still managed to catch the attention of many young men.

They assumed she was just like them, a singleton out for a stroll. They eagerly started approaching and striking up a conversation with her.

Among them, the boldest was a young man in his early twenties. Wearing a pair of rimmed glasses, he appeared refined and polite. "Hello, are you also here to enjoy the view of the sea?" "No, I'm just having a casual stroll," Lysander answered honestly.

The man had prepared a poetic pick-up line related to the sea but promptly choked on his words. Just as he was about to continue speaking, he was abruptly bumped by a baby stroller.

"Sorry, I accidentally bumped into you," Josiah said emotionlessly while pushing Aurora in a baby stroller.

Then, he seamlessly positioned himself between the young man and Lysander.

Having been disrupted from what he thought was his chance, the young man replied in slight annoyance, "It's fine." He wished that the doting father with a child in front of him would have the sense to leave on his own accord. However, Josiah continued, "My wife and I are tourists from out of town. We're just here to enjoy the scenery." The young man was instantly so shocked that it was as if he had been hit by a bolt of lightning.

Wife? And tourist? This girl standing before me, dressed so young and elegantly... is actually a married woman with a child? After a brief moment of shock, the young man hastily muttered an apology before fleeing in search of his friends.

Josiah stared at his retreating figure, his face as dark as thunder.

Lysander couldn't help but laugh. "You seem to have scared him." "A mere scare is too lenient. Youth people nowadays truly lack discernment," Josiah said lowly.

Lysander glanced at her own hand.

There was nothing on her ring finger.

Well, no wonder he couldn't tell.

Josiah also saw it but didn't dare openly voice his desire to buy a new wedding ring. All he could do was clear his throat subtly and ensure he didn't keep too much distance from her.

At the very least, anyone who glanced their way could tell they were together.

In reality, he didn't say anything at all. Yet, the mere sight of him carrying Lysander's bag and pushing the baby stroller led to the boy filling in the rest of the story by imagination.

Detecting a hint of jealousy, Lysander said helplessly, "I think he probably didn't notice you. After all, a baby stroller tends to jostle quite a bit on pebbles. Aurora might be uncomfortable in there." Josiah didn't want to tire her out, so he willingly took on the more exhausting task of carrying Aurora, saying, "I'll carry her. Just push the baby stroller." With a baby in his arms, Josiah didn't even have to say a word to fend off all of Lysander's potential suitors. However, as Lysander calmed down, she becmore elegant and gentle. Even when she was merely taking a stroll, she still attracted admiring glances from men.

Overwhelming jealousy filled Josiah. After a moment's contemplation, he said to her, "I'm going to buy sthings. Be right back." A near distance away was a shopping mall. Lysander thought he might be thirsty or needed to use the restroom, so she didn't give it much thought. "Sure. Do you wantto hold Aurora for a while first?" "Sure." Josiah carefully handed Aurora over to her.

With her carrying a child, even the boldest young men who wanted to strike up a conversation could only beat their chests and stamp their feet in regret, wishing they had gotten to know her earlier.

Before long, Josiah returned, carrying a shopping bag of a well-known jacket brand.

Somewhat bewildered, Lysander asked, "Are you really that cold? You seem to be wearing quite a lot." She assumed that it was meant for himself.

"I'm not cold. I'm just worried you might be cold. The temperature drops after sunset, and I don't want you to catch a cold." As Josiah spoke, he took out a jacket and unexpectedly draped it over her.

Seeing her eyes widen in surprise, he continued matter-of-factly, "You once toldto take medical advice seriously. remember when you had a blood test previously, Lynn said your health was severely compromised, and you needed to take good care of yourself. So, I can't just do nothing and watch you get sick from the wind. What if you fall ill while on vacation?" It was natural to have sbriny sea breeze at the seaside park, thus understandable for those susceptible to the cold to layer up. However, it was a bit over-the-top to wear a jacket. Lysander glanced down, noticing that although the jacket size was correct, the style was clearly meant for men.

It covered her exposed wrists and neck, leaving nothing bared.

Her figure was no longer discernible, and she then resembled a barrel made of cloth.

"Don't you think you're overthinking things? It was just a young boy trying to strike up a conversation. I didn't even take it to heart." The second half of the utterance eased the anxiety that had been plaguing Josiah. "It's good that you didn't take it to heart. May I know why?"

Finally, he finally saw a glimmer of hope for reconciliation with Lysander. Lately, he was particularlyoverwhelmed by a sense of impending crisis, fearing that if he wasn't careful, she would be swept away by sman who appeared out of nowhere. Feeling a bit cold indeed, Lysander hid her hands in the jacket's sleeves.

She said to him casually, "I've been married and divorced. As such, I lost hope in such a thing a long tago.

I'm not currently interested in starting anything new. If you insist эт on a reason, it's probably because I don't fancy younger men. What's the difference between having a younger brother?" Josiah almost asked her directly if she would consider rekindling an old relationship if she wasn't currently interested in starting a new one. But then, he forcefully swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue.

The glow of the setting sun was as intense as fire, and it seemed somewhat anticlimactic to be rejected in such breathtaking scenery.

He merely pushed Aurora along in the baby stroller, accompanying her on a stroll. After hearing her reply, his focus was wholly on her, leaving him no tto pay attention to the men who occasionally turned back to look at Lysander. Everyone had a fondness for beauty. But as long as he was by her side, he wouldn't give anyone else a chance to steal her away.

After they had taken a stroll along the shallow beach and returned to the starting point, the young man who struck up a conversation with NO Lysander previously was nowhere to be found, his belongings gone. From the look of things, his embarrassment probably grew over time, leaving him with no choice but to ultimately slip away. no
