Chapter 250 | Hate It
Elissa and Robin met at the height of their youth, a twhen love felt invincible.
They were a perfect match-admired, envied, the kind of couple others spoke of in hushed awe.
Their families, well-matched in wealth and influence, welcomed the union with open arms. Everything aligned
as if fate itself had blessed their love story.
Elissa had envisioned a simple, beautiful life with Robin-marriage, children, quiet happiness. She never
imagined a different ending.
But fate clearly had other plans. On the night of her wedding, the dream she cherished shattered in an instant.
She had spent the night in the arms of her lover-or so she believed.
But as dawn broke, the world around her crumbled. The door to the bridal chamber burst open with a deafening
crash.
Elissa jolted awake, her mind still hazy, her body aching from the night before.
The room was a mess of disheveled sheets and discarded clothing. Her wedding dress lay in tatters on the floor,
the delicate fabric torn and ruined.
The marks on her skin, the lingering warmth on the bed, the unmistakable stain on the sheets-evidence of what
had transpired.
The fairytale she had believed in had just beca nightmare.
Elissa would never forget the look on Robin's face the sheer disgust, the fury twisting his features as he stared
at her.
“Elissa! How could you?” he roared, his voice cutting through the heavy silence like a blade.
The words struck Elissa harder than any physical blow.
Then, the horrifying realization set in. On her wedding night, in what should have been the most sacred moment
of her life-she had been with a stranger.
Not Robin. A stranger.
Who was he? She didn’t even know his name. Before she had woken, he had already vanished.
And from that moment on, Elissa’s life unraveled. The whispers spread like wildfire. The accusations cswift
and merciless-from her family, from Robin's, from everyone who had once looked at her with admiration.
Shameless. Disgraceful. She was branded with those words.
Elissa had no defense. No explanation that would change what had already been decided.

She had walked into the wrong bridal chamber. Slept with the wrong man. Lost everything-her innocence, her
dignity, the happiness that had once felt so close.

Her world had shattered beyond repair.
Hadley listened, her heart aching with every word. She had always seen Elissa as strong, independent, someone
who carried herself with quiet resilience. But now, faced with the weight of her suffering, Hadley found herself
at a loss.
There were countless kinds of pain in this world, and even someone as seemingly unbreakable as Elissa had
been crushed beneath its weight.
“Elissa...” Hadley’s voice wavered, her throat tightening with emotion. Her eyes burned with unshed tears.
“How...
how did you two stay together after that?”
It was one thing for Robin to be angry-after all, who wouldn't feel betrayed after such a wedding night?
But if he had truly been unable to forgive, shouldn't he have divorced her?
Elissa swallowed hard, struggling to find her voice. “Because... At first, Robin said he didn’t care. He told me...
he toldthat losingwould hurt more than anything else.”
Her voice cracked, and she stopped, unable to go on.
But Hadley didn’t need her to finish. She understood.
Robin had tried-maybe he had even meant it at the start. But in the end, resentment had won. He couldn't
overcthe barrier in his mind, the invisible stain he believed she carried. And instead of walking away, he
had turned his pain into cruelty, lashing out in the nof vengeance.
Elissa covered her face with trembling hands, her sobs quiet but raw.
“Hadley... | hate it. | hate it so much.”
Hated what? She didn’
say.
But Hadley had a feeling she knew the answer. The man who had taken everything from her. The man who had
destroyed her life before it even began.
Without a word, Hadley reached for a tissue and gently wiped Elissa’s tear-streaked face. “Elissa, have you ever
thought about getting a divorce?”
“Divorce?” Elissa’s red-rimmed eyes snapped up, her expression one of pure bewilderment, as if the thought
had never once crossed her mind.
Hadley nodded, her tone firm but kind. “Yes. You're just hurting each other by staying in this marriage. If you're
not happy, why keep living like this?”
Elissa shook her head, staring down at her lap. “I... | don’t know. I've never thought about it.”
Hadley squeezed her hand. “Then start thinking about it. You're still so young, Elissa. Don't let yourself rot in a
relationship that’s already dead.”

A few days later, the doctor cin to check on Eric, his practiced gaze assessing him with a hint of approval.
“You can transition to oral medication now,” the doctor announced, shutting off the IV with practiced ease.
Eric, who had been teetering on the edge of boredom for days, immediately straightened. “So, does that mean |
can finally get out of here?”
The doctor gave him a knowing look. “Technically, yes. But I'd advise staying a few more days for a safer
recovery.”
“No, thanks,” Eric replied, waving a dismissive hand. “Another day in this place, and | might actually fossilize.”
Hadley scoffed, rolling her eyes.
Did he think she hadn't noticed?
Even while hooked up to an IV, Eric had been running his business as if the hospital was just another office.
Phillips had practically turned Eric's hospital room into a temporary headquarters. Eric's schedule was properly
tighter than his doctors!
The doctor sighed in resignation, “Alright, Mr. Flynn, but take your medication on time, avoid anything strenuous,
and-most importantly-rest.”
“Understood,” Eric said with a nod, though Hadley could already tell he had no intention of following that last
part.
Phillips left to sort out the discharge paperwork.
Since Eric still wasn’t back to full strength, Nyla suggested he return to the Flynn Mansion, where a team of staff,
a private chef, and round-the-clock care would make things easier for him.
But nothing could have prepared Hadley for what awaited them at the mansion.
As they stepped inside, Hadley’s eyes landed on a tiny figure darting across the hall-a three-year-old child with
big, round eyes. She blinked. A child? Living here? With the Flynn family?
She stared at Eric in surprise, and he simply squeezed her hand, a wry smile playing on his lips. “Yes, that’s
why Ernest and Linda have been fighting.”
Hadley opened her mouth-then shut it again.
Lately, Linda had been relentless in her complaints-insisting that Ernest had cheated on her. And now, the
truth was out. The child was already three years old-this wasn’t sfleeting mistake or a moment of
weakness. This had happened years ago.
Hadley couldn't help but glance at Ernest, the ever-composed, refined man. So even he was capable of
something like this?
Of course, she kept her thoughts to herself.
This wasn’t her business, and she had no right to judge.
Still, an unexpected thought crossed her mind-joy.

Her eyes flickered to Eric. The Flynn brothers sure had something in common. When it cto children, they
both seemed to share the sstreak of irresponsibility.
Eric, noticing her pointed stare, shifted uncomfortably. “Why are you looking atlike that? Hadley, | swear -
you're the only one for me. | haven't fathered any children with anyone else!”
Oh? Really? Hadley smirked but said nothing.
“Con.” Eric huffed, taking her hand and leading her upstairs-straight into his bedroom.
Once inside, he turned to her with a smirk. “Hadley, helpchange.”
She shot him a dry look. “The doctor said your wound has healed.”
“He said it’s closed up-not that it’s fully healed,” Eric corrected smoothly, wrapping an arm around her waist.
“I'm still fragile. | shouldn’t move too much.”
His grip tightened slightly, his voice dipping into something unmistakably playful. “I need you to take care of
me.”
Hadley exhaled, unimpressed. “Stop clinging to me,” she muttered, trying to push him away. “Either stand
properly or change yourself.”
“What's the matter?” Eric wasn’t about to let her off the hook so easily. “Are you blushing?”
His voice dipped into a teasing lilt. “Wait... don’t tellyou're embarrassed because of my abs?”
“Eric!” she snapped, torn between frustration and sheer mortification. “Can you stop messing around for once?”
“How am | messing around?” he replied smoothly. “I'm just being an attentive boyfriend.”
Before she could wriggle free, he grabbed her hand and pressed it against his waist. “See? You're blushing even
more. Just admit it-you like my abs, don’t you?”
Hadley jerked her hand away. “Let go!”
Eric grinned. “Not until you answer. Yes or no?”
Hadley rolled her eyes tically.
“Oh, please. You've been lying in a hospital bed for days. Your muscles have probably turned to pudding
What's there to like?”
“Excuse me?” His voice pitched slightly, the confidence cracking. “No way.”
In full-blown panic, he poked at his abs, as if testing whether they had, in fact, turned to mush. “They're fine Not
soft. Definitely not soft.”
Hadley seized the moment. “Change your own clothes! I'm out of here!”
“Hadley!” Eric lunged, but she was already gone.
She practically flew down the stairs, still grinning-until voices from the living room made her slow her steps.
“Locke, Mommy made you ssnacks. Ceat, sweetheart.”
“I don’t want to! You're not my mommy!”
