Chapter 758
Isaac ended up in such a state while trying to save her.
Kari told Grace that had Isaac not taken the brunt of the impact for her, her injuries would have been far more
severe.
When they pulled Isaac from the wreckage, he was still clinging to Brittany.
Grace looked at Brittany for a long moment before sighing. “Bri, this isn’t your fault. It was Zac’s choice.”
Grace’s kindness only made Brittany feel worse. She pursed her lips as her eyes brimmed with tears.
Carla Salter was about to hurl insults but was silenced by a pointed look from Grace. She clenched her jaw and
stormed off.
The situation in the ICU was grim. The doctor emerged from the room with a somber expression. “Grace, Mr.
Salter’s condition is not good. Perhaps…”

Recognizing Brittany as Isaac’s ex-wife, the doctor looked to Grace for approval.
Grace nodded. “Go ahead.”
With Grace’s permission, Brittany donned protective gear and was led into the ICU by a nurse.
A wave of cold air hit Brittany as she entered the ICU.
She immediately spotted Isaac, who was looking worse for wear.
He was connected to various tubes and machines, and his skin looked so pale that it was almost translucent.
“Please leave us alone for a moment.”
The nurse left.
Then in the large ICU, only Brittany and Isaac remained. Brittany wheeled herself closer. She stopped by his
bedside, not daring to get any closer.
She hadn’t really looked at Isaac since their messy break-up five years ago.
Time had been kind to him. There was no trace of age on his face. In fact, he looked a bit better now; he looked
more mature and established.
Brittany sat in her wheelchair as her mind filled with vivid memories. Both good and bad. Both sweet and
heartbreaking.
After what felt like an eternity, she managed to stand and walk over to Isaac’s bedside. She carefully avoided the
tubes and wires, and then took his hand
in hers.
His hands were strong and handsome, and his long fingers looked elegant. She always thought that these hands
should be playing the piano instead of doing business and smelling of money.
He had always been meticulously groomed. He had perfectly manicured nails, which glowed a nice shade of pink.
She gripped his hand tighter, almost feeling his heartbeat.
Brittany raised her eyes, which were red and swollen. “I forgive you for what happened five years ago.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAccording to Shona, he had done what he did because of her. He did everything for her.
She only saw her own pain and forgot about what Isaac had been through for the past five years.
She began to feel deep regret. If Isaac had handled things differently five years ago, maybe they wouldn’t have
been apart for so long, let alone ended up like this.
Unfortunately, there were no what-ifs in life.
Brittany stayed in the ICU for nearly two hours. Her body was exhausted, and she fell asleep almost as soon as she
returned to her room.
Late that night, news of Isaac pulling through hit his family.
Grace let out a sigh of relief. Her body was shaking. “He made it.”
Emily helped Grace to sit down. “Grace, take care of yourself!”
When Brittany heard the news, she had Kari arrange for her to be transferred to another hospital, and she never
returned.
Carla ranted and raved. “Grandma, look at her! Isaac was so good to her! He almost gave his life for her, and she
didn’t even come to see him!”
What a cold-hearted woman! She really didn’t know what Isaac saw in her.
