Chapter 581
Matthew is a real whizz-kid; within just five years, he managed to bring the Dustin Group out of the red, and the
company was more than quintupled in its size. The land he developed had now become one of the most eye-
catching projects in Imperial City.
He didn’t achieve all this by twiddling his thumbs.
“As for your payment, we can hash it out later.” Brittany was never a stingy woman as she rewarded people.
“Sure.”
Matthew didn’t bat an eye. After sweating bullets for five years, he deserved a handsome reward.
They chatted the whole afternoon away, and Brittany handed Matthew a hefty chunk of change. Before leaving,
Matthew gave Brittany a long, thoughtful look.
“Ms. Dustin, I heard you had a falling out with Mr. Salter?”
“Yes.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBrittany knew there was no point in beating around the bush.
“Well, then, you should stop butting heads with the Salter family. Even though the Dustin Group is a lot stronger
than five years ago, it’s still a small fry for the Salters.”
Matthew was worried that Brittany was going to pick a fight with the Salter family. If that happened, all his bard
work over the past five years would go down the drain.
After Matthew left, Brittany sank into deep thought.
She finally left when her assistant reminded her about the dinner party.
Joie’s dinner party was a big bash; she had booked an entire floor of the restaurant. The private room was filled
with crew members, and the atmosphere was really chill.
By the time Brittany and her assistant arrived, the dinner party was already in full swing.
They found a spot and sat down. Brittany grabbed a glass, poured herself some juice, and was just about to take a
sip.
“Brittany, you made it.”
Joie walked over with a wine glass in hand, beaming from ear to ear, “Let’s toast?”
Suddenly, the whole room fell silent.
One was Isaac’s ex-wife, and the other was his crush in the moment; their face-off filled the room with a palpable
tension.
Most of the crew were just there for the popcorn, and nobody dared to take sides.

Isaac was backing Joie and Brittany was supported by the Dillion family and Bri-jeweled Studio, so neither was ready
to back down.
“Sorry, Ms. Joie, I’m allergic to alcohol.”
Brittany had no intention of drinking with Joie, nor was she in the mood for making nice..
Joie’s smile froze. She clutched her glass of wine, “Are you holding a grudge against me?”
The Crew thought, “What the heck? What’s going on? Aren’t they rivals? Why does Joie seem to care so much
about Brittany’s feelings?” Brittany didn’t know whether Jóie was just a great actress, or if she had some screws

“Ms. Joie, I don’t think there’s any bad blood between us.”
“I know you’re still mad at me because I have feelings for Bro Isaac.” Joie cut her off, “But Bro Isaac and I only got
together after you guys broke up. I never intended to steal him from you. And you’ve moved on now. Can you
promise me you won’t contact Bro Isaac anymore?”
In a few remarks, Brittany was painted as a clingy, desperate woman.
Everyone in the room was shocked, and they looked at Brittany as if she was a heartbreaker!
Brittany narrowed her eyes slightly, picked up her glass elegantly and sipped her juice leisurely, “If you can let Isaac
give me some space, I’ll be very grateful.”
Jpie didn’t expect Brittany to be so patient. She still managed to be so composed on hearing such harsh words.
Just as she was about to say something else…
“She’s allergic to alcohol. I’ll drink this one.”
A pair of hands picked up the glass.
Joie was surprised, “Bro Isaac, why you’re here?”
Under everyone’s gaze, Isaac downed the drink in one gulp; hís Adam’s apple bobbing up and down, drawing
sidelong glances from everyone.
“Mr. Salter is drinking for Brittany?”
