Chapter 600 Put On An Act
At headquarters of Tarragon, Artemis was treating the subordinates of the previous leader.
In a tearoom at Yvette's place, Dominic nodded at her and said, “Don't worry. Everything has been arranged. It's so
amusing that he expects loyalty when he seldom shows up at the headquarters.”
He had spent a considerable amount of money these two years to bribe the housekeepers at the headquarters, all
in anticipation that someday they would be of help.
And now, they finally came in handy.
“Thank you, Mr. Doyle. Don't worry. As long as I become Tarragon's matriarch, I will surely honor your family as the
largest clan in Tarragon headquarters. I will personally see to your clan members' elevation to important posts
within the organization.”
Dominic was pleased with Yvette's assurance. “Thank you, Your Highness. Ah, you should be known as the
matriarch from now onward.”
Yvette let out a soft chuckle. “I still have much to depend on you, Mr. Doyle. Do treat me like your own
granddaughter.”
“I'm honored. Supporting you is my duty. Your father had shown great kindness to me and my family in the past. I'm
merely repaying his kindness,” Dominic replied humbly.
Yvette sneered to herself. Just listen to that grandiose excuse. Who doesn't know what he's really plotting? He's just
supporting me because I'm alone and vulnerable, an easy target that he can control.
Yvette was certain that Dominic would be the first to kill her if she no longer listened to him.
“Do you need me to attend the banquet tonight?”
Dominic nodded. “This is a pioneering medicine formulated by Mr. Mayweather. Not only can this medicine
temporarily erase one's memories, but it can also allegedly substitute the person they love with the first person

Yvette hurriedly nodded.
Of course, she knew what Dominic meant.
He was telling Yvette that if Artemis were to take the medicine, it could cause him to forget about Bailey and fall in
love with her instead.
Of course, she would understand. It was something that she had been dreaming about.
“Sure. I'll attend the banquet tonight and stay by his side. I'm going to be the first person he sees when he wakes
up,” Yvette replied.
“Okay.”
Meanwhile, in the study at the headquarters, Artemis was leaning back on the couch, gently swirling a glass of iced
wine in his hand without taking a sip.
Right then, the study door was pushed open, and in came Holden.
“What's up?” Artemis asked, raising a brow.
“I've identified those who Mr. Doyle has been bribing these two years within the headquarters. Should I seize
them?”
Artemis lightly tapped the rim of the glass and asked nonchalantly, “Holden, do you want to avenge your sister?
Actually, you guys are well aware that Yvette is the culprit, but you guys have not been able to find any
incriminating evidence against her, and so you guys can't do anything about it.”
Holden's face sank as a dark glint flitted across his eyes.
“I've been looking for evidence from back then, but I've not been able to find anything. Can you help me?”
Artemis' lips curled into an enigmatic smile. “Yes, but you've got to put on an act with me. This time, I'm going to
catch all the troublemakers, including the mastermind who instigated Yvette here, as well as Scarlett, to cause the
car accident in Hallsbay.”
Holden started to understand what he was getting at. “So you want to play along, and then—”
Artemis interjected with a wave of his hand before Holden could finish his sentence. “There's no need to say it out
loud.”
At night, a grand banquet was taking place in the dining hall of Tarragon's headquarters.
Artemis, wearing a mask, sat in the main seat as he listened to the flattery and fawning adoration of the people
below him.
After three rounds of drinks, he began to feel weak.
Yvette rose from her seat and smiled. “Gentlemen, it's getting late, and Leader has drunk a lot. Let's call it a day
and let Holden escort him back to take a rest.”
Dominic let out a chuckle and summoned the housekeepers to fetch a dozen hangover remedy drinks.
“We don't get a lot of chances to gather together like this, so we have to cherish the moment. Those who feel
intoxicated may drink some hangover remedy, and we'll continue to drink after that.”
“Yes, Mr. Sullivan is not here anymore, leaving only his daughter behind. We're happy to see her getting married
and drink a few more glasses in his honor. Mr. Sullivan can rest assured even if he has passed.”
Dominic shot a look at a housekeeper and signaled at her to serve the particular glass of hangover remedy to
Artemis, who was sitting in the main seat.
The housekeeper promptly did as signaled.
Artemis did not think much and downed the hangover remedy.
“Agreed. Gentlemen, Yvette getting married is truly a happy occasion and warrants a celebration. Let's drink to our
hearts' content, and may Mr. Sullivan rest in peace.”
Yvette was thrilled to see Artemis downing the hangover remedy in one go.

Meanwhile, Justin cast a befuddled look at Bailey in a study room of a medical base in Hallsbay. “Vero is in critical
condition, and she needs twenty-four-seven surveillance. Why did you suddenly call me?”
Bailey cut to the chase. “Mrs. Fletcher instigated your mother to obtain your sperm and get Scarlett pregnant just
so she can avoid jail time.”
Justin was stunned.
His face fell when the pang of realization hit him. “Really? They're planning to do something so disgusting?”
“Yes, I'm pretty sure, so you've got to be careful.” Then, Bailey told Justin her plan.
Justin clenched his fists. “After all that we've been through, I can't believe they still won't give up. Fine, we'll do it
your way and let them suffer the consequences of their own actions.”
Bailey arched an eyebrow. “Let's hope Scarlett will finally give up for good this time.”
When Justin was about to speak, the phone in his pocket rang.
It was a call from Olivia.
He snickered and said, “Maybe you're right. They might really be planning to tie me together with Scarlett by
getting her pregnant.”
Then, he answered the call. However, it was Christopher's voice that rang out, not Olivia's.
“Justin, come back home if you're free. Your mother is not doing well these two days from her hunger strike.”
Justin held his phone tightly. After a bout of silence, he uttered coldly, “Okay. I'll pop over in the afternoon.”
After hanging up the call, he flashed Bailey a bitter smile and said, “Congratulations. You were right. They're luring
me back home just so they can take me down and do as they please.”
Bailey offered him a sympathetic look and suggested, “If it's too difficult for you, you don't have to go back home.”
“Forget it. Since they want to go to that extent, I'm going to play along and let them have a taste of their own
medicine. However... can you really guarantee that Scarlett won't bear my child?”
