Chapter 510
Raiden lifted a brow and smiled.
“The news about the antique statue is spreading like wildfire out there. Naturally, I came to behold the
marvelous thousand-year-old antique.”
At that, the eyes of the person in charge lit up.
Initially, he was unsure if he could actually take the antique statue away by the end of the day.
However, Raiden's intervention heightened his chances of succeeding in that.
“Mr. Fletcher, my higher-ups have ordered me to send the antique statue to Jadeborough Museum.
You're old friends with Ms. Jefferson, so could you please convince her to forgo the statue?”
“No,” came Raiden's instant reply. “I was the one who gifted her the statue, so I won't allow it to be
taken away. You don't need to worry about your higher-ups because I'll deal with them. Stop harassing
Bailey from now on, got it?”
A look of shock crossed the person in charge's face. He could not believe that Raiden had gifted Bailey
a national treasure that was so important. If news of that were to get out to the public, the people would
begin speculating about the nature of Bailey and Raiden's relationship.
One was the eldest son of a prestigious family who held military power, and the other was a single
mother who had gotten pregnant before getting married. The two of them should not have crossed
paths in life, and yet, Raiden was deliberately binding him and Bailey together.

and the emerald seal to be brought into the capital at the same time.”
Raiden icily glanced at him and muttered, “I'll explain things to my father. If the public were to ask about
this, you'll tell them that I represented the country in gifting Bailey the antique statue. Do you
understand?”
The other man was about to say something else, but Raiden shot him another cold glare.
“Of course, of course. I'll do as you say right away.”
At the tearoom, Bailey poured a cup of green tea for Raiden and sighed.
“You shouldn't have come. I'm now Artemis' woman. If you get involved in my matters, people will start
talking about how you and I might be romantically involved. If this ends up enraging your parents, you'll
have more troubles to come.”
I finally know what Zoey was trying to do by revealing the existence of the antique statue to the others.
She's trying to force Raiden to admit that he is the one who gave me the statue. Then, his admittance
will make the public start speculating if Raiden and I are romantically involved.
Raiden's marriage was of utmost importance to Tamara. She was not going to let Raiden sabotage his
future by getting together with someone like Bailey, who already had children. To make sure that her
son would not actually get into a relationship with Bailey, Tamara would certainly target Bailey.
Zoey's plan of using others to deal with me is indeed impressive. That way, she won't dirty her own
hands. Mrs. Fletcher is indeed the best choice.
Tamara's identity wasn't as prominent before this, so she wasn't as powerful. However, when her
husband had gone up the ranks, her status had risen as well—she was now the most esteemed lady.
Raiden chuckled, unperturbed. “I'm confident in you. Even if my mother wants to mess with you, I'm
sure you'd be able to deal with her just fine.”
Bailey was speechless to hear that.
He's clearly overestimating me. I'm fearless right now because I have Artemis to back me up. Without
Artemis, I can barely keep my head afloat in the waters named Hallsbay. I've made too many enemies,
and everyone wants me dead.
The news about Bailey keeping the antique statue for herself continued spreading in the outside world.
To soothe the public's anger and stop things from getting out of control, the Cultural Relics Bureau
came out to make an announcement, saying that the antique statue was a reward from the government
to express their gratitude to Bailey for what she had contributed to the country. They also mentioned
that Raiden had represented the government in gifting the statue to Bailey.
The moment that announcement was made, the public went abuzz again.
Raiden and Bailey already had an ambiguously romantic relationship.
Now, Raiden's action of gifting a national treasure to Bailey seemed to cement the idea that there was
something going on between the two of them.
Thus, the topic of the discussion shifted. Everyone started talking about how Bailey could not be
satisfied with merely Artemis alone and about how she was even hooking up with the most promising

Some even compared her with her mother. They talked about how her mother had been promiscuous
and had given birth to Bailey, a baby without a known father. They also talked about how her mother
had cuckolded Clarence for over twenty years.
And now, Bailey was walking down the same path her mother did, ready to cheat on Artemis as well.
Bailey's mood plummeted when she caught wind of those rumors.
She had a history of prenatal depression, and along with stress from her pregnancy, she started
showing signs of another episode.
Despite that, she did not heed Artemis' advice of moving overseas for a period of peace of mind.
Veronique was not doing good. Bailey had to continue researching in the lab to come out with an anti-
cancer drug.
At the Fletcher residence in Dellmoor, Tamara angrily slammed the newspaper onto the coffee table
and snapped, “Darn this Bailey. She's already together with Artemis, so why is she still coming after my
son? What does she want? Polyandry?”
Scarlett said, “I told you so. I said Raiden was bewitched by Bailey and that he would go against you
and Dad for Bailey's sake, but you didn't want to believe me. Things have reached an irreversible state
now. Just you wait. Raiden's going to bring Bailey to the Fletcher family and force you to accept her as
your daughter-in-law!”
“That's impossible!” Tamara leaped to her feet and gritted her teeth. “She doesn't even know who her
father is, and she even had premarital pregnancy! What right does she have to join the Fletcher family?
Ha! So what if she's smart? I refuse to believe I can't deal with her as long as she's in Chanaea.”
Scarlett curled her lips and tilted her body to the side to send Shirley a message: My mother's mad.
Now what?
