Chapter 504
Justin's expression was pale as though he had been dealt a devastating blow.
His hands were shaking as he gripped the report and stared at it without a word.
To be exact, his entire being was trembling.
Malignant tumor. I can't believe it is a malignant tumor. That means even if we remove her uterus, the
cancerous cells will still spread to her other organs. We cannot remove all her organs, can we?
“No. There must be something wrong. Perhaps we did the test wrongly. Let me run the test again,”
Justin muttered under his breath as he fumbled with the buttons on the equipment.
Bailey shook her head lightly and spun on her heels to walk out of the lab.
Outside, Artemis could sense the gravity of the situation when he saw her walking out, her expression
pale. Reaching out to support her, he asked solemnly, “Is it bad news?”
Bailey held her forehead and sighed. “It is indeed bad news. The tumor is malignant. Even if the uterus
is removed, the cancerous cells will spread elsewhere.”
Artemis' expression turned dark.
Artemis was well aware of the sufferings that Justin faced before finally gaining happiness. As Justin's
good friend, Artemis felt sorry for him now that something like this happened.
“What about the anti-cancer medication? There are clinical trials that prove it works, right?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBailey shook her head and explained, “There are many types of cancers, and the anti-cancer
medication we developed only works on a few types of cancerous cells.”
“What are you guys planning to do?”
“Let's wait and see. Justin is currently struggling to come to terms with the results, so he's redoing the
test. We'll have a conversation once he's had a chance to calm down.”
Artemis bobbed his head. “You should go keep Veronique company. I'll wait here for Justin.”
“Mm.”
Olivia was talking on the phone inside her bedroom in the Xuereb residence.
“Really? Did that woman really suffer from uterine cancer with a malignant tumor?”
“Yes, Mrs. Xuereb. Mr. Xuereb couldn't accept it and is currently running tests in the lab, but I'm positive
that Ms. Revelle is suffering from uterine cancer.”
Olivia tightened her grip on her phone as a delighted grin appeared on her aged yet still attractive
countenance. “Oh, this is karma. I was wondering how I could break them up, but she is now ill. This is
great. Malignant tumor, huh? She'll soon die and make way for Lettie.”
After the call ended, Olivia hurriedly called Scarlett.
Scarlett had been giving Olivia the cold shoulder ever since the latter screwed up last time. Now that
she received some exciting news, she was eager to share it with Scarlett as soon as possible.
The ringtone rang for a good forty seconds, but no one answered her call.
She tried calling again a few times to no avail. In the end, she had to call the Fletcher residence's
landline.
“Hello. May I know who you're looking for?”
“Is this the Fletcher residence? I'd like to talk to Ms. Scarlett Fletcher.”
“Ms. Scarlett Fletcher? That is not the proper way to address her. She is now Lady Scarlett Fletcher.
Please be mindful.”
Frightened, cold sweat beaded on Olivia's forehead. She realized that she had made a mistake and
quickly apologized. “I'm sorry for that. I need to speak to Lady Scarlett urgently. Could you please pass
on my message to her?”
A rustling noise was heard, followed by Scarlett's voice. “This is Scarlett Fletcher. May I know who is
speaking?”
“Lettie, it's me, Mrs. Xuereb.”
“Oh, Mrs. Xuereb. Is there anything I can do for you?”
Olivia held her phone tightly and declared happily, “Lettie—”
“I think it's best for you to address me as 'Lady Scarlett' to show your politeness. What do you think?”
Scarlett interjected.
Olivia's face turned dark in displeasure.
However, she knew the Fletcher family could bring her family a massive profit, so she was forced to

“All right, then. I shall address you as Lady Scarlett. Lady Scarlett, I have some wonderful news to
share with you.”
“Oh? What is it?”
“That b*tch from the Revelle family has a malignant tumor, so she doesn't have long to live. It's a great
opportunity. Why don't you come back to Hallsbay and get Justin back?”
“Veronique has a malignant tumor?” Scarlett raised her voice in excitement. “Are you sure about that?”
“Of course. She's currently in the Xuereb family's medical base. I'm one hundred percent sure she's
suffering from cancer and is dying. Lettie, you have to fight for your happiness. I know you can't forget
Justin, so don't hold back. You're the number one socialite in Chanaea and also the honorable Lady
Scarlett. You can marry whoever you want.”
A few seconds of silence later, Scarlett made up her mind. “Fine. I'll make up an excuse to sneak away
from Dellmoor and head to Hallsbay. Mrs. Xuereb, you cannot disappoint me this time.”
“Okay, don't worry. I promise that you and Justin will end up together this time.”
Back at the medical base, Veronique watched as Bailey peeled a fruit beside her bed in the ward. “Are
the results out? It's a malignant tumor, right?” she asked calmly.
Bailey's hand gripping the knife went rigid, causing the blade to slice across her skin. A stream of blood
flowed down her flesh.
“You're bleeding!” Veronique struggled to sit up.
Bailey swiftly placed her hands on Veronique's shoulders, pressing her back to the bed. In a husky
voice, she reassured her, “Vero, don't worry. Everything is going to be okay. Everything will work out.”
