Chapter 376
If it were before, she would probably have been overjoyed.
Yet, as the years passed, she only thought that it was ironic when she saw him guarding her in the
distance.
Such irony. Where was he when I experienced the darkest days of my life when I lost my arm and my
son? Ha, how can I forget? He consented for others to cut off my arm. He was also the one who sent
men to kill my son. All my misfortunes are because of him.
As Shannon recalled her past, especially Eugene's innocent little face, hatred brewed in her.
She suddenly stood up and grabbed her bag on the table to retrieve a few pictures before dashing out
of the room.
Seeing her stumble down the stairs, Micah immediately went over to help her.
“Shanny...”
“Don't call me that.” Shaking his arm off, Shannon glared at him with hatred and gritted her teeth. “I feel
disgusted when you call me that.”
Micah's pupils constricted, and a look of pain flashed across his face.
“Sha... Shannon, I had no choice but to do what I did back then. I had no authority and couldn't protect
you. If you didn't lose an arm, they would have killed you. I can only hurt you as compared to losing
you.”
“Enough.” Her eyes wide, Shannon glared at him and yelled, “You think I hate you because of that
incident? No. What made me hate you is your heartlessness. You killed so many people, even your
own flesh and blood.”
My flesh and blood?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtStunned, Micah stared at her with a frown on his face. “My flesh and blood? Shannon, what are you
talking about?”
Shannon barked out a laugh. “You're pathetic. What, you don't dare to admit the crimes you
committed?”
Micah was utterly confused.
If it were before, she would probably have been overjoyed.
His instincts told him that he was missing something.
He seemed to be kept in the dark regarding certain matters.
“Shannon, calm down. Tell me what you want to say straightforwardly. Don't beat around the bush,
okay?”
“You're not going to admit it?” Shannon glowered at him with red-rimmed eyes and screamed, “You
were the mastermind behind that car accident years ago. How can you not admit it? Micah, are you
even a man?”
Walking toward her, Micah grasped her shoulder with one hand and caressed her elegant brow with the
other gently, his fingers lingering on her skin.
No woman could remain impassive if a man who had power and influence reaching across the globe
treated her so gently.
However, the person he was treating so lovingly was Shannon, making his actions seem ironic.
“Shanny, I'll give you my arm. If that still can't diminish your anger, I can dig out my heart for you. Can
you just stop looking at me with such deep hatred? It hurts.”
Shannon laughed hysterically, and as she laughed, tears started sliding down her face.
Shoving him away, she uttered sarcastically, “I thought you were just heartless before. Now it seems
that you don't even have any basic sense of responsibility. How can you not have a sliver of regret
when my child died a terrible death? Micah, I wish I could skin you alive and incapacitate you.”
Child? Died a terrible death? What does she mean? What is she trying to say?
Micah's face turned sour, and he reflexively stretched out his hand to grab her left hand, but all he
touched was her sleeve.
His face turned pale at that.
This wound stood between them, hidden, unspeakable, and irreparable for the rest of their lives.
His instincts told him thot he wos missing something.
He seemed to be kept in the dork regording certoin motters.
“Shonnon, colm down. Tell me whot you wont to soy stroightforwordly. Don't beot oround the bush,
okoy?”
“You're not going to odmit it?” Shonnon glowered ot him with red-rimmed eyes ond screomed, “You

even o mon?”
Wolking toword her, Micoh grosped her shoulder with one hond ond coressed her elegont brow with the

No womon could remoin impossive if o mon who hod power ond influence reoching ocross the globe

However, the person he wos treoting so lovingly wos Shonnon, moking his octions seem ironic.
“Shonny, I'll give you my orm. If thot still con't diminish your onger, I con dig out my heort for you. Con

Shonnon loughed hystericolly, ond os she loughed, teors storted sliding down her foce.

Child? Died o terrible deoth? Whot does she meon? Whot is she trying to soy?
Micoh's foce turned sour, ond he reflexively stretched out his hond to grob her left hond, but oll he

His foce turned pole ot thot.
This wound stood between them, hidden, unspeokoble, ond irreporoble for the rest of their lives.
“Mr. Neyman, you have grabbed the wrong arm. This arm has already been cut off by your people.”
With that one statement, Micah felt as if he was plummeting into an abyss.
And Shannon's next words completely pushed him over the edge into a bottomless hell.
“But the pain of losing my arm can't even be compared to a thousandth of the pain I felt losing my son.
Micah, one day, my son will become a ghost and take your life. He will stand before you, his biological
father, dripping with blood, asking you why you killed him.”
With that, she threw a stack of pictures in his face before turning to leave.
“As you wished, Eugene died terribly and will stay dead. His head collided with a sharp edge, and his
skull shattered. He only died after all his blood drained out of him. I'm giving you those pictures to show
you how horrifying the tragedy you created was.”
Micah's legs were leaden, and there was a ringing sound in his ears. He could not understand what
she was saying.
What did she just say? Child? Biological father? Skull shattered? What is she trying to say?
Lowering his eyes, he gazed at the pictures on the ground.
The background is blurry, so it was probably printed from surveillance footage. Of course, such things
could be ignored.
What truly shocked him was what the pictures showed.
She is right. It is truly a tragedy.
The cameras perfectly captured how a mother and son collided with a jeep and flew into the air before
crashing against a corner of the building opposite them. Blood spurted out, and some even splattered
onto the camera lens.
