Chapter 367
The scene where the child bled heavily was like a burning piece of metal etched deeply in her soul.
Each time she saw children around that age, her body and soul ached so hard that she felt out of
breath.
No. She could not let go of that memory.
That man should be punished for killing his kid.
If that man did not receive his punishment, she would kill him to avenge Eugene.
Knock. Knock.
Someone knocked on the door.
She struggled to stand up and rushed to the kitchen, grabbing a kitchen knife before returning to the
living room.
When she opened the door, she immediately swung the knife ahead.
However, the knife hit nothing. Without any resistance, she staggered forward and ended up standing
outside the corridor.
It was quiet all around her, without any sound in the background.
She glanced left and right. The man was nowhere to be seen.
As she moved backward, her ankle was caught onto something, and she lost her balance, causing her
to slump to the ground.
Her knife slid down from her grip, making a clanking sound as it dropped on the floor.
She lowered her gaze and saw some familiar food items and fruits.
They were the same items she grabbed at the supermarket but couldn't pay for.
Soon, footsteps could be heard coming from the stairs. Two young ladies walked past her and could
not stop gossiping about her.
“Look at how haggard she is. I guess she must be heartbroken after a guy dumped her.”
“You're right. That's why we can't believe and rely on men so much. Women who rely on and trust men
too much should have prepared themselves to be dumped one day.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShannon lowered her head and took in her haggard look. A wry smile tugged at her lips.
That's right. It serves me right.
Despite knowing that she could not afford to get close to that man and fall in love with him, she still
foolishly devoted all her affection to him. Thus, she deserved her miserable ending. She brought this
upon herself.
The scene where the child bled heavily was like a burning piece of metal etched deeply in her soul.
Meanwhile, Raiden rushed back from another city and headed to a suite in a five-star hotel to find his
mother.
“You shouldn't have come to Hallsbay,” he said.
Tamara narrowed her eyes and questioned coldly, “Are you expecting me to sit back and do nothing
like you when others are bullying Lettie? She was a sick child growing up and finally got a chance to
live like a normal person. As a mother, I must do everything to make her happy.”
Raiden paced back and forth in the living room, trying to sound as patient as possible as he said,
“Mother, you should know that Justin doesn't love Lettie. Forcing things never works. He doesn't care
for your daughter now, so do you think he would treat her well if he were forced to marry her?”
“He can try hurting Lettie. She's the Fletcher family's precious little princess. No one dares lay a finger
on her.”
“Fine.” Raiden waved a dismissive hand. “I don't think I can convince you otherwise, so it's pointless for
me to continue doing this. Why don't you tell me your plan instead? What is your plan?”
“I discussed it with Bill. He will make his daughter return to Hallsbay and hold a press conference to
clarify the rumors about the illegitimate child.”
“What about Justin? If he refuses to marry Lettie, what will you do? Will you use the Fletcher family's
power to force him into marrying her?”
Tamara sneered. “We will see what the Xuereb family does about this. I believe Mrs. Xuereb will have a
way to make her son compromise with this.”
Raiden did not know what to say.
Right then, Scarlett rushed inside the suite.
Seeing that her brother was there, she shrank her neck a little. “R-Raiden, aren't you supposed to be
elsewhere? What are you doing here?”
Tamara waved at her. “Lettie, you don't have to be afraid of him. I'm in charge of your marriage now
that I'm here.”
Hearing that, Scarlett was thrilled.
She was glad her brother did not convince Tamara otherwise, or she would surely be doomed.

“Mom, I heard Veronique has returned from abroad. Why don't you urge Bill again? Tell him to order
Veronique to hold the press conference and clarify the rumors about the illegitimate child. Also, you
should remind Bill to go to City Hall to dissolve Veronique and Justin's marriage.”
Tamara nodded. “I'll call him later. Don't worry. Bill promised me he wouldn't allow his daughter to ruin
the engagement the Fletcher and Xuereb families had agreed upon.”
Meanwhile, in the bedroom at the Jefferson residence, Rhonda jolted awake from a nightmare.
The moment she opened her eyes, she looked as though she was in a daze.
Staring at the luxurious chandelier hanging on the ceiling, she thought she was still dreaming.
After rubbing her eyes, she noticed the scene around her did not disappear. Only then did she return to
her senses, and she immediately burst into tears.
Beatrice happened to walk into the room with a tray in her hand at that moment. Seeing that her
daughter was crying, she immediately rushed over to her and asked, “Ronni, are you not feeling well?”
Struggling to sit in her bed, Rhonda ignored that she had torn her wound as she threw herself into her
mother's embrace. Instead, the first sentence she said was, “Mom, I must destroy Bailey, that b*tch.”
“Sure.” Beatrice patted her back to console her and continued, “You should focus on your recovery first.
I've found you a great weapon, and it will surely help you teach Bailey a bloody lesson for what she has
done to you.”
Rhonda tugged the hem of her shirt tightly. Then, like a demon that crawled out from hell, she uttered,
“I must cut her flesh piece by piece to completely relieve my hatred.”
“No problem. I'll think of a way to bring her here and let you have your way with her.”
“Mom, I hate her so much. I wish I could skin her alive.”
“I know. I understand.”
