Chapter 293
Zayron laughed cynically and said, “Don't worry. We're still from the Luther family. It's just that our
father has now become our uncle.”
Susan's expression stiffened as her smile vanished in the blink of an eye.
Zayron clenched his teeth and expressed his frustration. “It's all Maxton's fault—told him to steal
Simon's blood sample, yet he went on and stole his father's instead.”
Something else seemed to pop up in Susan's mind when she heard that.
She got excited not because she would be getting a rich father, but because of something else.
“Is Max the child Mommy thought had passed away? He's also our elder brother, right? D*mn it,
Rhonda. How dare she steal Mommy's child and bring him to the Luther family? She must pay the price
for causing Mommy to live in misery for so many years.”
Zayron rolled his eyes. “Can we focus on finding our dad first?”
The little girl responded with a cold snort. “I only acknowledge Daddy Eddy as my daddy. None of the
men in the Luther family are as pleasant-looking as Daddy Eddy.”
Meanwhile, in the guestroom of the Xuereb residence, Scarlett was leaning on the couch while talking
over the phone. “Are you sure the person who hacked into the research institute to retrieve my data is
Spook and not Veronique?”
“Yes, Ms. Fletcher. All the evidence indicates that Spook was the hacker.”
Upon hearing that, she tightened her grip on the phone.
Scarlett had always thought the culprit was Veronique. If that were the case, she would be able to put
the latter behind bars for a few years. Oh, well. Too bad she's not the hacker. But it's fine. Spook is
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtclearly in cahoots with Veronique since she helped her steal my data. As long as I can get hold of
Spook, I'll get her to spew out the mastermind.
“All right. Get the cyberspace administration department to track Spook down. Make sure it carries out
a thorough investigation. The Fletcher family must get to the bottom of the information leak.”
“All right, Ms. Fletcher.”
After ending the call, Scarlett let out a cold snort. I have nothing to be afraid of since the entire Fletcher
family has my back. She's just a daughter from a family of doctors. Who is she to snatch my man?
She would not let Veronique have both Justin and the bone marrow. I would be an idiot if I lent her a
helping hand. Can't wait to see her illegitimate son die a miserable death.
Meanwhile, a woman wearing a cap was walking in the quaint streets of Springwyn.
People who had gotten hurt in a relationship would come to this place to find peace.
After a short walk, the woman froze for a moment. Instead of turning around, she stared into the
distance and said, “Stop hiding. I know it's you.”
There was no one behind her.
Shannon responded with a sigh before turning around. “I've come across quite a few unfamiliar faces in
this town, and they all seem well-trained. Bailey must have sent you here, right?”
Yet, she still did not get any response from the mysterious person.
After flashing a wry smile, she stuck her hand into her pocket to fish out her phone.
Ordinary folks could have done it easily, but not Shannon because she had lost an arm. “I'm going to
call Bailey if you're not going to show yourself.”
“No, please don't...” Suddenly, a young man emerged from the corner of the wall.
“Please don't, Ms. Shannon. Ms. Bailey doesn't want you to contact her during this period.”
“Is that so?” Shannon found a spot, sat on the grass, and asked casually, “Did he find out my
whereabouts? Is he trying to hunt me down?”
The young man remained silent and lowered his head as he sympathized with her.
He could not bring himself to hurt her anymore as fate had put her through hell.
“Got it. Tell Bailey not to worry about me. I'll hide well and not cause her any trouble,” she said.
The young man hesitated for a moment before assuring her, “Enjoy your stay here, Ms. Shannon. Ms.
Bailey will help you clear all your obstacles. We hope you can start afresh and find someone you can
spend the rest of your life with.”
Shannon glanced at her missing left arm before gazing into the bright blue sky.
At that point, she had resigned to her fate.
Her hoarse voice echoed in the air. “I didn't steal Tarragon's secret information. If an outsider like Bailey
can trust me, why can't the man I shared a bed with and the father of my child believe me? I was too
naïve to believe I'd met my Prince Charming, and because of my ignorance, I'd not only ruined my life
but had also destroyed my child's future.”
Meanwhile, a shareholders' meeting was taking place in the conference room on the top floor of
Saunders Group.
The entire conference room was in a chaotic situation.
Suddenly, a few bodyguards dressed in black suits barged into the room.
The secretary standing behind those men exclaimed, “Gentlemen, please. You can't barge into our
conference room like this.”
“What's going on?” A middle-aged shareholder got up from his chair and roared, “Who are these
barbarians? Where are our security guards? Drag them out of here!”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe man in a black suit walked over and punched him in the face. The shareholder instantly collapsed
into the chair.
The man's brutal move had caused an uproar among the other shareholders.
Victoria, who presided at the meeting, kept staring out of the conference room. Upon noticing a familiar
figure from a distance, she began to feel a pain in her heart. He just can't wait to take over Saunders
Group, huh?
She just needed a few more days to sell her shares in the company.
She would sign the acquisition document if she were given a couple more days to gather the money
required.
“It's Lionel. Lionel Gezmond from Gezmond Group,” a shareholder exclaimed when he recognized the
man.
Victoria guardedly got up, walked up to Lionel, and smiled. “What a surprise visit, Mr. Gezmond. How
can I help you? If you're here to discuss business, please wait for me at the CEO's office. I'm afraid I
won't be able to attend to your request here since this is the shareholders' conference room.”
Lionel lifted his hand, gesturing for his bodyguard to hand a stack of documents to Victoria.
Victoria lowered her eyes and glanced at the document.
Upon seeing the words “Share Transfer Agreement” on the cover page of the document from a
distance, she began to develop a bad feeling about it.
After snatching it over and reading through the content, she staggered and said in a shivering voice,
“M-My father transferred all his shares to you?”
All the other shareholders were thunderstruck when they heard that.
“Vincent Saunders! How could he sell off his shares at a lower price when the company is still
operating? That irresponsible man doesn't deserve the chairman title!”
A corner of Lionel's lips quirked up. He responded nonchalantly, “Indeed, he doesn't deserve the title.
That's why I'm here to take over the company. From now on, I'll be leading Saunders Group.”
