In just a week, Garland Group’s stocks were shorted by Winnie and Nathaniel. The two of
them bought the majority of the shares at a low price, and Hamish’s private investment
projects all went down the drain overnight, causing him to become heavily in debt within
the span of a few days.
All the real estate under his name had been offset by the bank, leaving only a mansion in
the inner ring that was temporarily not seized by the bank due to the ownership issue.
That was also the mansion where Winnie was temporarily staying in.

“Where’s Yara hiding now? Did anyone from the bank or court reach out to you both?

“But Mrs. Garland is…” Nancy’s voice trailed off.
With his patience wearing thin, Hamish snapped at the woman. “I told you to pass the
phone to Yara! Are you deaf?”
Even though Nancy was just a housekeeper, she was also a human with a temper.
“All right, I’ll pass it to her! Why are you so mad? It’s useless even if she answered your
call,” she muttered lowly.
Luckily for Nancy, Hamish didn’t hear her words. He only knew that the phone was passed
to Yara after a long time.

phone.
“Mrs. Garland, please answer the phone. It’s from Mister,” explained Nancy.

me there?” Yara asked.

“Yara, are you messing with me?” Hamish probed angrily.
Sobbing, Yara protested, “No! Please don’t take me away. I’m so scared.”
Sensing that Yara had lost her marbles, Hamish yelled, “Nancy? Nancy!”
Nancy only picked up the phone again after comforting Yara.
She explained, “Sir, this is what I wanted to tell you just now. Mrs. Garland hasn’t been in
her right mind since she moved here that night. I accompanied her to the hospital to see a
psychiatrist. The doctor said she was suffering from persecutory delusion. Mrs. Garland
tried to call you before. However, your secretary kept saying that you were in meetings.
What should I do now? She doesn’t want to go to the hospital anymore. She kept saying
that a ghost was haunting her and trying to harm her. It’s really frightening to see her in
this state. Mr. Garland, why don’t you stop by here?”
Hamish felt like he was losing his mind. “What the h*ll is going on? How did she end up

days?”

When she saw Hamish leave, she took out her phone and called Nancy.
“Tell Yara that Lorelei will get her revenge once Hamish is dead. Then, Lorelei’s spirit won’t
haunt her anymore,” Winnie said impassively.
After a short while, she also drove over to Yara’s mansion.
Hamish was driving a kilometer ahead of Winnie on the road.

in the closet.
Besides, Hamish had no intention to continue talking to Yara, so he directly asked Nancy to
bring him Yara’s phone.
Even though Winnie could not see the contents on the phone screen through the
surveillance cameras, it was not hard for her to guess what Hamish was doing at that
moment.
He must be transferring Yara’s assets.
While Hamish was busy using the phone, Nancy opened the closet and dragged out the
insane Yara. Then, she whispered something to the latter’s ear.

stared at Hamish while laughing eerily.
With that, Yara went to the kitchen. When she reappeared in the room, she was holding a
sharp knife.
